The recruit of the year Matty Dawes was sensational and best on ground for me as was The B Train up forward his presence for us is great for the team and the supporters. Both Pechies and Watto were great too.
Still have my doubts about Kurtz, yes he loves reading the play down back plays that role well but if he continues to put in performances like ducking his head when going for a mark like saturday and not giving out the shepards and doing the one percenters, then sides like Nuri and Tanunda will eat us. Take a leaf out of your coaches book Kurtz, he is one of the finest fearless backmen of all time at the Angaston Football Club.

Heard a very strong rumour on Saturday at Tanunda that Nuri's Nat Salter is in talks with the Kapunda Bombers about a playing coach role for next year, but has not told Nuri and is trying to keep it on the quiet for now.

Just have my two bob to throw in there Borat.
Brandon 'The Body' Kurtz has had an excellent year, however he can get a little caught up in the aesthetics of the game.
Did witness a funny thing when he received what was barely a love tap in the back of the cranium in the last quarter and then milked it for everything it was worth, plus more.
If little Natty Salter is the bomber's first choice coach, one begins to wonder the direction the club is heading.
Maybe, a young green coach who is wet behind the ears may be what Terry Ryan want's.
Whist talking about green, did hear a whisper that David Green maybe heading back to panther land in 2010.
Also heard that Freeling is possibly chasing Scott Hodges as there 2010 coach.

He's not as green as you may think, and I reckon if Kapunda took him on thinking that they could play him like a puppet they would be in for a very rude awakening. Dont think he's lost a game as coach after several years on the job either - so knows how to win, whether Kapunda have the cattle (or shetland ponies) is another question I guess.

There must have been a junior agenda on that selection panel as this is the only match PH could find with the Milligan-South marriage.

Millsy will sweep the broom through South he see's no point hanging on to the aging jumper fillers that have been around that club for 50 - 100 games who are only providing his kids with examples of soft footballers.

lanchetown

Cattle or shetlin ponies, a coach can work with.
But he is currently a mini-bus, and may eventually work his way up to be a servicable passenger transported for Nicholl's Bus Service.
Good on the young fella if he can jag the gig, but he would be like a fish out of water in the BL&G as a coach.
Natty Salter has only coached the Blanchetown Bulldogs in the Mid Murray, where Dale Weachter and Gary Krause are the linch pins to there attack.
And now plays a puppet to the little gnome at Nuri in the B's.
My suggestion to Nat is take a deep breath, take your time, do your apprenticeship otherwise coach Hadden will spit him out.

Where and when he's coached have very little to do with his willingness to stand up to administrations ... because they reside in all clubs, and in all aspects of life.
I'd suggest age aside he has significantly more credentials that one or two of the coaches this year.
I'm sure Dale and Gary would be thrilled to be considered lynchpins of a side that they have never set foot in.
I'd agree that theres no point rushing into a role for the sake of it, as taking the wrong role too soon could do more harm than good.

Also have heard the hodges rumour with freeling, apparently steve eichner is the driving force behind this. Maybe no-mercy could shed some light on this topic?

Lets hope the directors make the right decision and change ovals this week! Tanunda oval should never been considered as a possible finals venue this year due to its condition. Surely there are better ovals than that around at this stage of the year, hopefully something is learnt from this and it doesn't happen again! All i can say is good luck to tanunda with training on it for the next few weeks, hope it doesn't take too much out of your legs! then again i suppose it wont matter will it swooper! heard you guys already got back-2-back shirts made up!!!!

Perhaps it would be easier to recommend the winners before the sinners.

D Lee, Vanderloo, Lutze.

Start with those 3 and put the rest of the players with more than 50 games experience on notice.

I had much pleasure in heading down to watch the panther demolition, although missing the first quarter. Good to see the boys backed the talk up with their actions. No humble pie today for lunch.

Unfortunately for non-panther followers the B-TRAIN stayed on track, with no de-railment imminent.
Basco has literally taken on B-TRAIN title, letting go with a big CHO, CHO fist pump in the last quarter.
After putting a patent on the name, B-TRAIN t-shirts are now available from Miles Newsagency and Angaston IGA for $25.
Did also hear that the Willaston assistant has been asked to explain his 3/4 time antics with the judiciary.
Can you confirm Daisy or Pinch?
Are you prepared to pay the price? WILL YOU PAY THE PRICE?

Texas,

What is your view of the world down at the den? Is there murmurs of happiness with the new signing? Has the ex-coach approached players to follow him? Are there any game breaking signings on the horizon?

Do you think Bevis will suit up again in 2010... he would have to be getting on now wouldn't he?

You would hope Bayliss can get a full pre-season on the track under his belt and have a red hot crack next year... you need him!!

Interesting to look back at some peoples predictions from the begining of the year. Seems Osama's ability to ilude the CIA isn't his only skill. Does you crystal ball extend past the realms of tipping in the BL&G?

Great to see the Panthers defeat the Tigers in another final, 2 to go boys lets hope its a wet September!!

Welcome Guy, you will learn very quickly, I never cease to amaze myself.
Much like my David Copperfield tricks while bamboozling the opposition playing fullback for Jerusalem.
This is why I carry so much credibility on this forum, because of my ability to separate the head from the heart.
I'll give you the next hot tip.
1. Tanunda to beat Nuri this week.
2. The panthers to face off against the Box Heads in the GF.
Do you also want the first at Flemington?

Ease up turbo, I never said they were going to win the GF, just that they moved the ball well.

I was talking up Ango's facilities two weeks ago, but I wasn't a clown then was I? Get over yourself.

Congratulation to the Panthers and lets hope they have another 2 games left in them.

I hope this is knocked on the head immediately, as this is another example that Panther Park is the most superior venue for all finals football and you cant pick and choose when you want to use the great venue.
Can't have ya cake and eat it aswell Nobby.

If it rains more this week Williamstown will be in great shape
Would have thought the BL&G would have chose somewhere better to play the biggest game of the year so far

Norm11..... Where did the Sponge whirl wind tour find himself yesterday?
:D

I think I saw Sponge eating some spare ribs at Virginia Oval yesterday.

So Sponge is one step closer to following Brant out to APFL? Norm11.
I assume this will see atleast one Burgess return back to there foundation club, assuming that he doesn't want to coach anymore.
