I'm not sure what game you were watching, drebin, but I presume you thought Ferguson was playing on Alleway all day. Incorrect. Alleway was on Webb in the first half and played extremely well. Ferguson was the player who went to him after half-time. Alleway's third quarter stats were 0-0-0.
That doesn't make Ferguson necessarily B.O.G, but at least Warren Partland knew who was playing on who. You also didn't know who was playing on Allan. Far from being tagged, he played on Bronik Davies, who had 28 possessions and according to you, was in West's best two players.
I thought Younie and Ryswyk were very good for North.
I've made no excuses for West. I'm happy with where we're at and looking forward to next year.
I hope you can reply in the spirit of this forum and leave the venom at home occasionally.
Well to respond in kind - Webb may have lined up on him at the Centre bounce but it was Ferguson who went to him straight away once the play went on so I'm not sure you are spot on there?. In any case Ferguson was not BOG, even you have to admit that.
Where did I say that Davies was not Allan's opponent? Clearly his instruction was to play wide of Allan however at stoppages there were other players from West applying "tagging tatics" against Allan as you would expect. Davies and Bricknell as I said were very good for West.
If you thought Ryswyk played well then you were at a different game. Watch the replay and tell me how many times his kicks went directly to West players (I think he only found a North player once all game) and how he could pin point the behind post when running into an open goal in the first quarter? Your point re Younie was spot on.
Hopefully West can build on this year's clear improvement and be a finalist next year as long as our streak continues against them and we finish higher!
