They called WA having every player in the NA forward line for what sounded like most of that last 5-10 minutes
I asked a person who works at Richmond
I asked him about the WA tactics when they needed to score
He said supporters were calling for players to go forward

WA have improved in 2009
Supporters can be satisfied with that improvement
But another similar season next year would be deemed unacceptable
To much talent to be playing too defensive too often or often enough
need to be a bit more offensive, play man to man, and stop the overflooding

Please Note
My comments are only based on the games I have seen WA play this year

Now that I have calmed down a bit, I couldnt agree more. You wont score goals with all our players in the defensive 50. If we dont make finals next year, I certaintly will be disappointed.

Why did it take unitil the 24 min mark in the second 1/4 to find that Ezard was being impeded

Even then he still only got a couple of frees. Maybe Jimmy could have presented Stribling his guernsey after the game considering he was so interested in holding it all the time.

Seriously can some of you West supporters come up with something better than blaming the umpires and the poor old tag that Ezard got! Geez - if North had taken advantage of ruck dominance and the inside 50's we would have and should have won comfortably! No mention that North had no bench in the last quarter and lost our CHB and No. 1 rover before 1/4 time. Add the fact that Cunningham, McIntyre and Sporn all didn't play and add White off at 1/4 time meant 4 of our first 6 choice defenders were not available! If anyone had excuses it was North but no West supporters have to blame the umpiring which was no factor in the end! Maybe you lot got all excited by Collins little rant to the umpires at 3/4 time? Surely Andy was out there querying the piss weak report of Alleway? That would have been easily the worst decision all day and that went your way!
West are a vastly improved side and so you should be after 4 spoons in a row but some of your supporters should take a bit of a look at themselves - especially the sooky whingers on this thread!

Sorry but i thought were a few soft missed. I guess if we didn't flood in the last 1/4 we might of won. I dont blame Andy for what he did at 3/4 time but i was surprised when he did it. I guess he wanted it a bit fairer. North were the better side on the day.

Fair call Thiele but as usual bad umpiring both ways but for some West supporters to whinge about Ezard getting tagged yet you never hear any North supporters except me counter complain about the treatment Jimmy Allan gets each week? Somehow Allan still manages to rack up a league best possession rate! Maybe Ezard should just try and get the ball instead of worrying about his tag? Plus yesterday at every stoppage your lot put another player on Stribling to hold onto / scrag him in an attempt to free Ezard up. At one point -in the second quarter both Ezard and the counter tag were hanging onto Stribling yet the umpire pinged Stribling for hanging on?

Anyhow we got what we needed - 2 points and our streak against West continues.

BTW Thiele - you have nothing to apologise for, you didn't make any stupid comments. As for the likes of geppscrossrams - that is exactly the type of poster I was referring too!

Thought had a good game only had the 4 touches. He really deserved to play after his performances in the reserves the past couple of weeks. Hope can keep his spot for next week.

Thanks Thiele.
He's a good young lad and I was very happy for him that he made his debut.

The 3-2-1 votes in the 'Tiser today - what a joke!

Ferguson 3 votes - you have to be kidding??? Seeing as his opponent took the most marks for North and had quite an influence I can't fathom how the match reporter can come up with that pick and from someone on the losing side??? Bricknell and Davies had better games than Ferguson???
Younie 2 - He deserved his votes, great game
Sloane 1 - played okay but....

....what does Jimmy Allan have to do to get a vote after dominating the game??? He should have got the 3 as he was clearly BOG . Obviously the 'Tiser didn't want Jimmy Allan to take the lead in the player of the year award.

What a ******* disgrace!

I've been reluctant to contribute about this game, for obvious reasons, but some things can't be ignored. I'm not sure what game you were watching, drebin, but I presume you thought Ferguson was playing on Alleway all day. Incorrect. Alleway was on Webb in the first half and played extremely well. Ferguson was the player who went to him after half-time. Alleway's third quarter stats were 0-0-0.

That doesn't make Ferguson necessarily B.O.G, but at least Warren Partland knew who was playing on who. You also didn't know who was playing on Allan. Far from being tagged, he played on Bronik Davies, who had 28 possessions and according to you, was in West's best two players.

I thought Younie and Ryswyk were very good for North.

I've made no excuses for West. I'm happy with where we're at and looking forward to next year.

I hope you can reply in the spirit of this forum and leave the venom at home occasionally.

Fire up Drebin, tell 'em what ya really think!

If it was Partland that gave the votes then say no more, he has less idea than Brenton Honor. Allan was clearly BOG. It'd be a real shame if someone's incompetence cost a player some prize money.

And just for the record I thought the umpiring cost West the game! :D
