I think you'll find Mark is one of the most unpretentious blokes on the grid. A fair dinkum, aggressive, no BS Aussie who says what he thinks. And if you read about how he got into F1 (through a lot of hard work and a slice of talent) and how he's recovered from the pre-season accident, then you've got to have some admiration for him.

He's quicker than his much celebrated young team mate in both practice sessions so far at the Hungaroring. Here's hoping for another fine weekend...bring on Q1!

Schumacher taking the spot of Massa!

From his website -

Michael happy to help Ferrari.

"The most important thing first: thanks God, all news concerning Felipe are positive. I wish him all the best again.

I was meeting this afternoon with Stefano Domenicali and Luca di Montezemolo and together we decided that I will prepare myself to take the place of Felipe. Though it is true that the chapter Formula 1 has been closed for me since long and completely, it is also true that for loyalty reasons to the team I cannot ignore that unfortunate situation. But as the competitor I am I also very much look forward to facing this challenge."

Hopefully he can push in this year with the title race currently wide open. He's up against it in terms of winning a title - it would almost take a miracle on Red Bull's budget, but he's a class driver, so hopefully a top 6-8 finish isn;t a ludicrous dream.

Miracles can happen it seems. It's not so ludicrous that Webber could win the title from here. Not to put the kibosh on him, but he's been mr consistent this season.

Felipe Massa looks to be through the worst. Great news. He has given an interview telling how he is keen to get back into the car as soon as possible. His recovery so soon from such horrific injuries is fantastic especially considering he is to become a father soon. He is one lucky man. It goes to show how strong those cars are given that his only serious injury was the blow to his head. Never mind he hit a wall at about 200km/ph

NEWSFLASH!

Mark Webber is p1ssed(!!) off about the Aussies plight in the Ashes. Let's hope he can turn that into a few tenths in Valencia qualifying

It's amazing to see the form reversal of some teams once they hit Europe.

very true. But teams like McLaren were always going to come back into the equation.

Webber's lap times are good so far given he started ~10kg heavier than others in the top 10

Rubens wins. I just hope he now retires at the end of the year after scoring a victory post-Ferrari life!

Of course there were circumstances that worked in his favour during the race, but you have to put yourself into a winning position to win and Rubens did just that. So full credit goes to Rubens.

With RBR floundering. Button will be smiling. Title looms.

Looking forward to Spa this weekend. The last of the original great tracks.

Red Bull should strike back with a strong performance (if their engines hold up)...

Yep, they'd be my favourite tracks too. I think they'll be racing at Suzuka again next year.

The original pre 1995 Imola track was also fantastic.

Tracks these days lack any character (ie. Melbourne, Bahrain, Malaysia, China)

I couldnt agree more...

The tracks in the 90's were far better IMO, its all about money these days.

I think Silverstone is boring, but that is the poms in general!!

Brazillian GP is pretty good, Adelaide was obvioulsy good (for us!). I even liked the Canadian GP.

You won't have to put up with that any more, as they're moving to Donnington from next year for 10 years.

It's not all just about money. Many of the new tracks have been designed with safety in mind given the speeds involved. So, yes the tight, twisting tracks of the 90's, especially the street circuits were brilliant, one of the big factors in winning the rights to host a F1GP round these days is the safety aspects of the track.

But at the end of the day, $$$$$ does play a huuuuuuuuge part.

Alain Prost is still my favourite... The Professor!

I agree it was better in the 90's. I used to love the older cars, lola, lamborgini, ford, lotus to name a few. And the drivers of that era more bigger personalities that on the circuit nowdays.

But it's still a fantastic sport.
