From what I know, Jeffries is the front runner in this race.

Will apply for the Norwood and Port job also.

Wonder how the people at Portland feel about it?

Did the Eagles accept a late application from one of N. Bassett and J. Cotton???

Phil Smyth i hear is along the chain of conducting interviews.
Can anyone down Eagle Land fill us in as to why they'd have a basketballer conducting interviews for a football coaching vacancy if this is true?
If it is he seems to have alot of interest in footy circles of late.

If you didn't know smyth was a coach himself, sure it wasn't in footy, but the way a coach thinks would be simular I thought. He would also know all about the SANFL and it's history from living here in Adelaide for years.

Would have thought someone like Marg Angove or Jan Stirling with their coaching experience at the highest level of their sports would make them quite suitable for a role on a panel such as the one we are discussing.
Trust the process.

No way Laidley is going to coach the Eagles regardless of if he wants to move to Adelaide. They might approach him as you would expect they would but won't happen.

Eagles would not be able to afford any of these 3, I expect the Eagles to appoint a local person - it is working for the top 5 teams at the moment.

Thats a new name to add to the list, saw him being interviewed on the ground at one of the breaks a few weeks back didn't know he was an assistant at Essendon until then, would think seeing as he is already in "the system" he would want to stay in it, so maybe Port is more likely.
Trust the process.

It wont be long now until the final interviews are done , especially as we dont have more than a handful of applicants to work through . My money is on a local lad , but I love to be wrong ! Not Rogers

Who is the coach that the eagles have been chasing very hard to get an application out of? Has had an interview and has another before the weekend is over. Will get the job IMO. You don't advise people to apply if you don't want them for the job.

correct and no that wouldn't be fair to the process being conducted by the eagles. I am only assuming he will get it after being head hunted.

Headhunted?? That suggests to me that someone has been offered the position. My mail is that the Club asked about 5 people to apply from both here and interstate to make sure that they got some quality candidates.

My info is Rodgers didn't want the seconds due to work and the same applies for the league.

He was approached by the other two clubs chasing a coach and knocked them both back.
