Good points raised
He will be 36 next World Cup and perhaps by the age probability he will be too old
Perhaps AU should raise a younger batsman for Test Cricket
However
One thing you and every other person must take note of
Selections for
20/20
50 overs
Tests
should all be assessed on the individuals performances in those brands of cricket
EXAMPLES
HUSSEY is a very good 50 over cricketer and deserves to play them, but his test form of late woeful[until that last dig]
CLARKE is star Test batsman who struggles at 20/20
BRACKEN is a very good 50 over bowler but is too friendly at Test level as a bowler
HOGG was star spinner in 50 over games, but struggles in longer versions of the game
And perhaps the biggest example at domestic level
Matthew ELLIOTT was a superstar 50 over batsman for SA and was a repeated failure in shield games
There are many more examples
