Interesting he was a genuine full forward, and played in a premiership in a back pocket....

Interesting your a Port follower. Tylor won a Ken farmer in 92/93, tell me that wasnt from a back pocket. Also won the 95 port goalkicking, so genuine full forward i think he was.

Darrens played both SANFL & AFL football so he know doubt has the experience & knowledge of the game over some other candidates but that doesn't neccessarely mean he has the peoples skills as far as communication one on one with individuals, i'm not saying Darren doesn't have that as i havn't been around to listen to him while he's been coaching Gaza & your not going to know that listening to him once or twice. From what i've seen of him in the past he's a confident person that has had some experience with South which would hold him in good stead.

who are you hearing it from? I'd be very surprised, he's not even coaching at all at the moment.

Could may be useful as an assistant at SANFL level.

Well, he did play out of a back-pocket in the '94 premiership team

Also played off half-back for a time in the late-80s...

He also is the back line coach with the league side at the moment.

Just as important as the League job are the choices of assistant coaches. Although filled with club greats, for some time I've been concerned that the coaches box has nothing but Port people occupying it.

Dutchy are you talking in the coaching panel (with assistants) or are you talking just the head coach? I would think Ginever would have got about 30k for the season.

What he is saying is that most clubs are now paying $120k+ to the Full time coach they have. Not a full coaching panel, lol.
