Yep, got it in the second quarter. The small crowd up there had a good laugh invading the pitch AFL style.
Blackwood won't be in the finals for long this year if they play as badly as they did yesterday. To Lobethal's credit they played very well and I expect to see them get at least a couple wins next year based on yesterday's commitment to the ball.
supercoach wrote:Uri's only had the one out I believe. Ironbank were up at halftime and were only 5 points down with 15 minutes to play and then Uri's kicked the last 6. Uri's would need to play better than that to win the flag but then again the Bankers have a great future to look forward to in 2010. Bring on the finals.

Think both of these teams have been ready to play finals for the last few weeks. Hard to excited for games against teams who arent playing finals football

What condition is Birdwood oval in at the moment? Interesting venue for a final if it is anything like it used to be this time of year.

Given the minor round has now finished, anyone care to have a go at picking a team of the year? Tough one and certainly a lot of debate. Names to consider Gigney, Roache, Bawden, T Martin, Bartemuchi, Bradley, Klun, Nunan, McGahey, Krieg, W Mclean, S McCormick, Wendleborn, P Magarey, Perterson-Gray. These names have certainly been in the best a few times this year.

It's in pretty good nick at the moment... has been improved alot over the years. That's if you can handle the velodrome!
And you'll always have decent showers, which is always a plus!

This is very average of the HFL website with no updates for the finals this weekend. Who is running the joint over there? Can anyone enlighten me to the proposed finals this weekend? Would I be correct in assuming...

Saturday at ?? I thought it was Uraidla but can they play there if they have a team in the final?
A1's Hahndorf Vs Blackwood
A2's Barker Vs Uraidla

Sunday at Birdwood?
A1's Lofty Vs Onkas
A2's Lofty Vs Hahndorf

Pigsy wants to know if Ryan Hunter has kicked a 100 goals in the B grade? If not Ryan should sit himself down and drink 20 beers.

Been a bit boring on the site for a while so I'll reveal a few whispers that will liven up the forum.
1. Uraidla will need to capitalise on this year cos' next year they will be looking for a new coach, already agreed to coaching else where, plus several of their big imports are heading to a high profile Amateur club starting with B and ending with w. Russell won 4 Magereys they will win 3 Eberts.
2. Onkas are chasing Geddes as their coach for 2010 while Echungas A grade coach may yet move to a Central club.
3. One central club has already started the rape and pillage of T/V for season 2010, the high profile players come as a package and want to play quality football next year.
There is a start...what do you know about any of this.

broadview tried to get ricky ebert half way through this year and threw alot more money at him then uraidla did but the prospect of playing with his brothers was too good to refuse. the rumour of scotty leaving comes up every year, time will tell when that is. i highly doubt he has signed for another club while still in serious finals campagin with another. and it will b interesting to see if or how many of the recruits will follow scott if this rumour is in fact true.

You'd be crazy not too try and get them.
Not sure about the package thing, even if a club could afford to pay them anywhere near the amounts they were on at TV, no club could fit them all in under their points limit could they!
