Generally agree with the sentiment of your post Oaksnaf, but thanks to ONE, Ambrose has received much more exposure than he would have otherwise.

I really enjoy ONE.

You are right. It has made a huge difference to the coverage that Ambrose gets on free-to-air television. Just a pity about the main-stream media.

NASCAR would have to be, one of the toughest motorsport categories to compete in. You definately can't just rely on the best car in the field (like Formula One) and walk all over the competition. Although I must admit, that the last lap dashes are a bit disappointing.

He's had a great establishment year and would have caught the attention of some big name drivers with his efforts on both flat tracks and ovals.

I expect he will be looking for a top 10 spot in the championship next year (which will be very, very tough to achieve)...

I wonder how Craig Lowndes would go in NASCAR. He's another naturally talented driver who can drive anything fast. Although wasn't that Jim Richards. Thomas Mezera did say that Jim would beat everyone even in a tractor race!

I think Lowndes would have done well over there too. Instead he went to Europe in open wheelers and flopped. His natural aggressive racing style would suit NASCAR though...

I'm not sure about being flopped. Considering that the had an engineer that didn't speak English and his team-mate demanded much much more I thought he did quite well to keep any career alive.

Sure V8 Supercars are no world-wide benchmark. But it would have been nice to see Lowndes continue in Europe taking into account his V8 talent. Surely if The Rat and Ingall can do something. Then Lowndes could have done better.

I know. Can't compare, different situations and times.

John Martin's got the cash! Can he continue. Patrizi $$. Nice guy. Not enough pace.

agreed, everyone in aust well most think how hard is it to drive around in circles every lap, but these guys are driving at 200 MILES an hour, not 200kms an hour, and the heights in the corners can make the car spin out if going in to fast or slow, and coming out of the corner is the same. i love the V8s but i LOVE the NASCAR better

By the way Brian vickers was the winner at michigan

Yep, 3rd place at Bristol. Ambrose also did well there last year IIRC.

He's really showing what a talent he is. No doubt would be getting noticed by some big names over there...

Sorry... Forget what I've written previously...

I expect he must be contracted to Toyota for a couple more years...

Good result

not only that, the result still keeps him an outside chance to make the chase for this year's Sprint Cup

very outside chance tho , doubtful he will make it has to make up nearly 250-300 points on 12th place, not forgetting that drivers get a certain amount of points just for starting the race aswell.
