1.89 million of whom think Lokan is a hack.

I told Lokan he was a hack once, 3 kicks later and Port had a goal while me and Chris Ladhams had an ongoing heated argument as he thought I was referring to him! :lol: :lol: :lol:

PS North's membership last recorded number was 2086.

That was a very amusing incident but typical of Ladhams who thinks everything is about him!

A couple of points;

Read CD’s post again Dutchy, he didn’t count the 500 Eagle Ones in his figure. He counted them separate and fully disclosed it.

There are at least 3 other clubs (besides the Eagles) that I know of that have some sort of low cost or free junior membership & I think all of the others count them in their figures.

Right now nine different clubs have nine different ways of reaching a membership figure, depending on how juniors, life members, sponsors, staff, players, officials and volunteers are treated.

As for Eagle One it is a special membership offered direct to junior participants in football (ie auskick, local school, club teams) in our zone. Currently it is not for general use although stay tuned for junior membership changes in 2010. I am involved with CD in a sub committee at the club that is working through this. We started small in 2009 and have had a fantastic response which should see greater expansion in 2010.

It is a technical argument whether these are free memberships or not as for the majority of kids, the Eagle One membership is an optional part of an overall package kids PAY for to participate in football in our zone.

The aim is not to inflate SHORT term membership figures but to grow strong links with junior football fans in our zone, a critical move in developing a LONG term supporter base in for years to come.

I know Phil, cd clearly stated two figures, one including and one excluding the Free Junior numbers ( I might add well done to the Eagles on such an initiative ).

LOL @ Wedgie, I guess when Ladhams heard "........your a hack" he just assumed it was about him. :lol:

Will the Changs and Nguyens be upset from the favoritism shown to the Yongs though?

We have introduced a new free membership for juniors called Eagle One - we have some 500 plus signed up Eagle One members so if counting all these juniors we are around 2600.

Hopefully we'll get even more members at Kids Day on sunday.

Dont think you can count "free" memberships CD

CD would know a lot more about memberships then you would Dutchy, I would suspect.

I agree Phil he did disclose the paid and non paid, but he also said "if counted" and I would think you couldnt count free memberships in an official membership count to be fair....thats what I was referring too
