Not me. Although the crowd wasn't bad for the League, I'd say close to 2,500.

Myself my 20 yo son and 6 AFL scouts .And the scouts if not all most were gone at the end of the seconds .Which said a lot for the under 18 game that followed .
And I have never been in a grandstand with so many scouts and so few fans!!!
Thiele mate I didnt see you but I spoke with sarge .

Blew that theory out of the water from me! Oh well, at least it made those scouts get up early, that's what they get for stealing our players!

That is the largest Eagles v West crowd @ Woodville for quite some time.

Great to see so many kids and families there for the Kids Day festivities.

Eagles finished 2009 with a 9% rise in home match crowds this year
(not bad with 1191 & 1592 coming to the 2 South home games)

And didnt Phil H do a great job today with kids day.
I had a very very quick chat with PhilH while waiting inline to buy my new Eagles cap .
According to CD it was the biggest crowd we've had at home against West.another very very quick chat.

Lets start this by saying what a great win by the WWT seconds.Havent seen an Eagles league team win like that for the last two years.Jeffries even swapped forwards for backs after half time .Powell Treeby Fairclough and Fiachhi must be close to coming back in.
Not sure what to say about the league win it was good but nothing spectacular .
Not sure what stopped west after half time .Perhaps it had something to do with Rimmington celebrating his goals ;) .
Plus the likes of cica and cheep going in hard .Luke jarrad not being manned up and Allmond onto the ball could have had a small hand in stopping West as well. ;)

One reserves game at 8.30 and everyone complains. Try getting to Noarlunga for a 8.30 game in the middle of winter. The U18s start times this year are all over the place. One week it's 8.30 the next it's 4.45 after the league game, the week after it's 2 pm then it's 11.15 am after the bye then it's 3.30 at AMMI.

ME, they shouldn't have stuffed around with the 17s and 19s as it is. Let alone playing the 18s at different times. I know that would mean you wouldn't be able to see the League as often, but at least the games would start no earlier than 11am.

I was against the change from the start and from the 17s/19s to the u18s, this is just one reason I joined up as an official. Just because something says that every other state has u18s means that the SANFL has to change doesn't mean it is right and will work. I like to see the u18 comp about 5 years after the GC and Western Sydney (or other team the AFL goes for). I don't think it would be as good.

But once the u/18s are finished you guys to do what ever you like. Today Reserves finish we still have to hang around get the league sorted after the HAlf time interval of the 18s. I didnt leave Woodvile until 5.30 after getting there at 6.30am. It just seems like a very long.

With Webb and Piasente out and I also heard that we needed to get some late permits for U18 players woing to the amount of players unavailable, it was always going to be tough today.

I thought Fisher and Beech's games were great. These two youngsters have along with Morris who will be out until June next year have been the highlights for me this year. Lobbe got his hand to the ball first, but far too often we lost the clearances. Willits is starting to believe in himself and his marking has improved considerably. Like many of his team-mates, he has his best footy ahead of him which augers well in 2010 and beyond.

At times our guys over-do the handball instead of giving the first long option and honouring the leads of our forwards > especially with the wind. In saying this, Bennett could be anything. His hands and ability to take the ball below his knees and find running players is exceptional.

Well done to the Eagles today. They also have a very young list with some very experienced senior players which our club is still developing.

The less said about the standard of umpiring today for both sides the better!

Who's fault is that. How many days this year have had the u18s after the reserves and before the league? How many different starting times have the league team have. I know that the Eagles u18s have had a few. At least 99% of the Reserves/League times are at the same time eg 11.15/2.00, but the u18s starting times are all over the place.

Exactly. If they just stayed with what worked for years and years, none of this 8.30 am starts would happen and neither would this short conversation between the two of us.
