I'm not concerned, Norwood and Eagles / Port will have different applicants at least in the final group due to employment conditions and criteria. It can always be sped up if need be but I don't think it wil come to that.

Actually if u sit down and talk about who's out there ,I know some of us Eagles fans have .There is bugger all good ex coaches in SA me thinks the nets will be needed to be cast wider .

It still doesn't bother me as I said one is full time and the others are part time, plus at the end of it you want someone that wants to coach your club not just whatever job they can get.

The gap between SANFL coaching and AFL Assistant coaching has got even bigger than it was plus Football Departments have got even bigger. For financial reasons very few AFL Assistant Coaaches will drop back to SANFL coaching. You might get someone like Daniel Healy who was more in developement rather than coaching. I looked back and I think I worked out 9 of the last 10 SANFL coaches appointed were locals, might not be exact with that but I think Collins was the only exception.

I think all three clubs will get applicants from interstate but all will end up going local and I see the final list at each club of say 3 or 4 being very different.

What could be interesting is the salaries available to WAFL coaches vs SANFL coaches. Is Shane Woewodin coaching in the WAFL at the moment?

It's all the SANFL's fault.

I don't think he's been all that successful either, may be someone lurking in the VFL looking for a gig.

Thats why Pyman and McGuinness are the stand outs as they will be available and already live here , along with lots of credentials or baggage , depends on your view on each personality Id say !

I'd be very surprised if either of those got a lead coaching role for next year.

Noone would be silly enough to give Pyman a crack at stuffing up their club like he did at South surely!

Agreed, taking South to the finals and actually winning a final really stuffed that club up temporary. Luckily with the guidance of a steadfast board they're back to normal now and winning a final and Pyman are a distant memory.

Yes, as history shows Pyman leaving South ( in no way is any humour directed at the family reasons for doing so ) has let them get back to doing it the "South Adelaide way".

Maybe just bulldoze the whole South Adelaide complex, let the players join Norwood, relocate to One Tree Hill and then clowns like Zappia won't have to worry about the Modbury Magpies. Kills off the bye situation, problem solvered!

Yes, the temerity of Pyman telling the South players that just finishing fourth is not good enough and that further dedication and effort is required to actually make Grand Finals. The nasty, nasty man
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Speaking of South, I bet their fans were very impressed with KGs comment today in the paper:

"I umpired their only flag in 1964".

Yeah, and the other bit too from Pyman supposedly, "SAAFL clubs are better run than South Adelaide."
Gee, that's a fairly damning comment from the wise one, however, he may well be right!

I would have thought by now that both Robbie and South would have worked out that he can't coach kids. I would think that he would be released to coach at a higher level.

What do you mean by this? Please explain

Alby Menzel has been seen around the club a bit lately. What role does he hold at the Parade at the moment.

Some still blame the little fella for ruining Norwood's once good junior program as a junior coach. Not sure if that is fair or not but i get the feeling Alby will be sticking to the Robin Hood and thereabouts.
