Been scanning this. Alesci is justifiably favourite with a number of quality mounts.

Does not have a ride in the first though so might go out a little to get some VALUE.

Lyon could ride out the JC quinella at good odds.

AOJ Hoobin has four quality rides and could factor, but Alesci looks really hard to beat.

I know your thoughts on JC favourites, so I'm going on Alesci quinellas.

I think Spinks is tremendous value @ $6.50 rides a fair chance in the first and will probably be on the fav in the second.

Has a ride in every race and most of his mounts have recently finished in the points.

Crossland @ $1.65 with some good mounts.

Our theory is search for value.

Spinks has a good shot with eight rides paper quoting them @ $5, $2.25, $26, $11, $6.50, $8, $13 and $6

Dave Simmons is also value @ $17 IMO.

5 mounts on eight race card.

Paper quotes them @ $6, $6, $5, $4.20 and $8.

Simmons at $17 is OVERS. his mount in the first should score points IMO. Taking the $17.00 now, waiting for Brad Stewart til completion of R1.

Wait on Brad Stewart. It's highly likely that Cossland will win the first. He'll shorten into $1.50, will stewart go out a little? I'm not so sure.

Hellyer could be worth a few bob at $50+ after R1 if he doesn't figure in the finish.

Angland looks the goods at Canberra, can't make claims for anyone else.
Will wait till after R1, i'm not sure Angland's mount will find points, and if he doesn't then we might get even money or better odds.
