Mouse Traps, I've filed down the notch, smeared the pin with fat, put the cheese in as tight as possible and still Ben is getting his own way, he's just taking the p!ss now GRRRRRRRRR.

By far the most successful trap has been this simple plastic tube thingy... It's got a square cross section, and is bent in the middle. One end has a door which is propped open. Bait is placed in the other end (peanut butter does the trick). The mouse walks in the open end, and climbs up the bend to get to the bait. This causes the whole trap to rock forwards and the door falls shut behind, trapping the mouse within. I acquired this trap on Friday and have since caught 4 mice with it. Much more reliable than spring traps which don't go off.

I'll add that once the mouse is caught, it is easily killed by submerging the whole trap in a bucket of water.

You spoil sport! Just imagine if that had been invented when Walt Disney was around, no Mickey Mouse for the kids.
Old Walt would have loved that, drowning mice instead of drawing them and trying to talk like one!

I thought that the peanut butter is to lure the vermin, is he more likely to disturb the plate that the bait sits on?

We had our own Ben problem not too long ago and tried the Peanut Butter because a chick here at work raves about it's success .. No luck for us though, I was half expecting to get up in the morning and find him making toast to go with it.

Eventually the cheese worked, but the bastards ate plenty of it before they went crunch.

We had a victory, the $3 metal mouse traps from Bunnings netted us 15 on Friday evening, haven't heard or seen of any since, we found bread to be the best lure, not only have the mice disappeared, our staffy did a runner yesterday and it could've been up to 5 hours that she was roaming around for before we knew, she wasn't wearing her tag either, she manages to remove it whenever we try and put it in her.

People changing the spelling of names. I heard this morning that Ryan Fitzgerald and his missus have called their new son Hewston. It's spelt Houston FFS, the poor kid's gonna be explaining that for the rest of his life now.

That happened to me about a week ago in the Eastern suburbs. I think it was a murray magpie. It was actually on the ground, flew up and landed on my head.
