dont beleive so, he only played 4 games

What else do you want him to do? He only has to be selected 4 times - doesn't even have to play them

what are you on about jimmy? i dont care what he does.

Sit down, grab a drink and the rule book mate

You only have to be selected for 4 games - that's what I'm on about

A good game out at Plympton Park on Saturday, Smithfield led at 3 qtr time in what could've been the biggest upset of the year. We were very depleted and the absence of Chris James hurt us big time.
To Plymptons credit, they showed their class and fitness and ran out easy winners in the end. Steve Taylor was sensational again and Jim Smith was well held, mostly by a 15 y.o named Matt Daly, he was superb.
Good Luck to all remaining teams for the season, the premiership is far from won, any of the finallists have a genuine chance IMO.

plympton v wos A and B grades at st marys

rosewater v bos at rosewater

if you have a look on the saafl finals venue draft..you will see thebarton salisbury and st marys all written in red..is this like some sort of flow on from the piece hosie did in his mag?..or is there another reason?

kookas 1 goal down at 1/4 time and 6 goals at half time and 11 goals at 3/4 time..blew out as expected after that..wasnt overly impressed with pulteney this time..i saw a few cracks and flaws..our team was a skeleton of what we would like to have on the track and included 6-8 regular B graders, and to be fair, they were embarassing pulteney for the first 50 minutes..pulteney got 5 goals in 6 minutes just before half time..oval set up was interesting..skinny wings and a fairly short ground..very, very even competition we have this year in the finals..for me..wos v pulteney GF

Imho Pultney are still 7 goals better than any other side in the competition. However there are flaws in their game that can be exposed but I beleive no other side in div 5 this year is good enough to expose them. I reckon they can be suspect when you enter their defensive 50. I get the impression that alot of their defenders are make shift such the strength of their midfield. They like to run and generate their attack from the half back line, if you are good enough to turn the ball over on the wings you will have ample opportunities to score as there is paddocks of space left by the hard running. I reckon if you have a decent CHF you can expose them too as I wasn't too impressed with the CHB on the weekend.
If you have well disciplined wings who hold their position and a quality centre man who knows how to read the play and hold his spot you will have a very good chance of defeating them, however all the sides I have seen this year I honestly beleive no one has that knack, but prove me wrong...
Overall though I beleive they are the best side I have EVER seen in div 5 including teams such as Woodville South, Modbury, Para Hills and Golden Grove. The comp this year with the exception of a couple was red hot and a far better standard than last year due to the SANFL scrapping U19s. The blokes who have played there are now playing div 1,2 and 3 and the effect flows down the grades as those blokes are now looking at lower sides to offer their services to.
My tip is a Pultney v W.O.S gf, Plympton the finish 3rd again for the 3rd straight year. However Plympton the win the 2s.

Wish I was not working Saturday to watch the Qualifying final at St.Marys. Promises to be a cracker...
The Dragons play the wide spaces of St.Marys exceptionally well and are super quick. Will need to be a huge performance by the doggies to get up.In the centre is where it will be won and if Plympton can keep OHara quieter than in previous weeks they are a show. For me the Dragons comfortably by 4 to 5 goals

can only tell it the way i saw it..they beat us by 31 goals the previous time and they were impressive then, we fielded a very very weak A grade side on saturday and we were 5 points down with 10 minutes to play before halftime..pulteney were basically full strength with only bass not playing..its all about they way they do it..elizabeth, rosewater, wos, pulteney all beat us by 20 goals this year..it wasnt a difficult task on occasions..as i said..i saw some cracks and flaws which can be exposed by the right team..as LK alluded to..maybe no-one will be able to put it into practice..imo they arent as good as the GG/Greenacres teams last year

They did win by 20 goals and it is a credit to a good side for doing that. Sometimes you have to read more into the result than what the scoreboard suggests. First half was really on. Then thats when fitness kicks in and emotion takes a lesser effect and thats when class provails 90 percent of the time.A fitter more well drilled side might take advantage of this, time will tell but I beleive no team in the comp is currently good enough to do this. I have said it before prove me wrong,im quite happy to see some ultra competative finals.

Good game of footy.... We'll have to play more then 1 quarter of footy to win finals. had to laugh at number 1 who finger gestering to the crowd after you guys kick a goal with 15 minutes to go, got the crowd goin... He can play though...
