AFL players attending SANFL games

Postby Voice » Sun Aug 16, 2009 12:22 am

Was pretty happy to see Fev in the crowd at Unley today until someone told me there was about 5 to 10 Carlton players at Prospect.
Had a bit of a chat with Fev and he's a clown, cracked some funnies and was not fussed by people talking to him.
Haven't seen this from any other AFL clubs but it seems to be a regular thing Carlton do. I do remember the whole Collingwood squad watching a game between Sturt and the Eagles years ago at Adelaide Oval.
Anyone else speak to any Carlton lads today?

Ratten was at Thebby today. Didn't speak to him, just assumed he was applying for the coaching gig.

I'd imagine that there'd be many AFL players who would find it quite refreshing to go to a 'lower league' game and experience footy at a non-corporate level... Remind them of their roots...

fev was at unley because he is good mates with ben nelson, i thought it was amazing when walking from the race back to the playground (across the oval) he only got stopped twice for an autograph & a photo but when back at the playground he was in demand & seemed very happy to accomodate the little & not so little kids
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Correct on all points there bayman. He had a good chat with me and I didn't fell like he was trying to escape like you get with some players.

Married with 3 kids ... runs on the board mate plus as a bonus in her preferred profile. ;)

Now hand it over.

Doesn't matter, she'll find me anyway.
