Are our boys that far behind the rest Maid? Scoring only the behind is pretty disappointing. Thing with junior football is it's mainly about the size of the lads - quite easy for the early developers to have a big influence on a game.

There are a couple of lads playing regular U17s in Wise and Ramsay - would have thought those two would be up to the appropriate standard. How did they play?

yea the lads did alright, wise would have been in the top 5,a few just couldnt take that step which was disappionting as you select on what you see each week, the other leagues just look more professional and with some leagues having under 15s where they play all together week in week out not sure if that is the difference, size was a factor,we looked big at training and then we look small game day,the yorke boys where just so fast and there skill level would test some a grade sides.

Not sure the right kids were played. I know they like to get an even rep from each club but surely the majority of kids have gotta come from Two Wells, Mallala & Balak. That said we have traditionally struggled in these comps. Nothing too much to be alarmed about.

Not good news Donkey :( . Always gotta feel sorry for blokes who need a recon, knowing how much hard work and pain is required to get back. Lets hope he recovers well and plays footy again in 2011.

My tips for the week:

United over Hamley by 5 goals
Virginia over Hummocks by 7 goals
Two Wells over Balaklava by 2 goals
Stuey Clark to replace Peter Siddle!

WTF happened at Balak on Saturday? 6 goals down at 3/4 time but the Roosters still got up! Would've loved to have been a fly on the wall in the Pecker changerooms after the game! :)

Hey Swamp, why don't you give us a run down on the days events at Mallala FC on sunday. It would've been an interesting day i would imagine with lots of players from all different era's etc. What was the format for the day? Someone slipped me a copy of the team of the century and glad to see my old mate got a game.

The Roosters ran all over the top of them in the last quater with the big move of Fuzzy from defence to forward a masterstroke. Fuzzy laid a HUGE hip in shoulder in the last and kicked an inspirational goal.

Well done Two Wells. But what would happen to your team if Lee Allmond and Applebee were to get injured???

P.S. Im not sure if Fuzzy is any player to boast about. ;) ;)

Not sure Balak would be happy about making front page of the Proddy! Its not you in trouble is it Hazbeen? ;) (only joking mate, you wouldn't stoop that low) Will be interesting to see how the tribunal handles this one thats for sure. I heard that Dougy Tallboy was at the Balak game Saturday but was no where to be seen after the siren. Is this true? Jumbo?

Anyone know how the Plough Wallace show went last night at Ralli Park?

I would imagine the same as would happen to any other side that looses its best player and a key defender.

Ah Fuzzy - what a legend ...... :) Was copping plenty from the crowd under the verandah as he was lining up for goal from 45 out - the verandah went amazingly quiet as he slotted it straight over the goal umpires head for one of 6 TW goals for the quarter.

I didn't see Doug all day MC - he may have been there. The umpires certainly not hometown favourites after the siren.

im usually not one to endorse other teams depths but im pretty sure mallala and virginia would still be fine if they were to loose youngy and rigney, and montgomerie and cawrse through injury. Two wells on the other hand will be extremely vulnerable as allmond is the barometer for Two Wells.

A player of Allmond's undoubted ability could not be replaced in any side I would suggest - except maybe by his own brother. A club's depth is best measured by its reserve grade performances - check the ladder. Applebee, as an example was dropped about 6 weeks ago for 2 games - I think Two Wells won both of those matches.

The answer may be clearer over the coming weeks with Mont and Griff missing from Mallala - tough couple of players to cover.

As for Virginia's depth - I would love to hear who they have in the Reserves that could even get close to cover Young and Rigney - certainly a few of similar size but no where near the talent.

Not me MC, I'm innocent, I was swatting golf balls to all corners of the course at Balak Sat arvo.

The VP's night with Wallace was good last night. Plough spoke very well, went thru the changes in footy from when he debuted for the Hawks in 1978 up to coaching today. Told a few storied about some of the interesting blokes he been involved with a few of the dumber antics of team mates and blokes he'd coached. Told a story involving Jason "Piggy" Dunstall eating the entire MacDonalds menu in one sitting during pre-season.

Had around 120 there, good night had by all.

going on what i have heard from balaklava players at work was that hodgetts was calling a lot free kicks to two wells and calling frees from 50km away from the play when the other ump was right there, they said the name of the offical invovled but cant remember, not the right think to do,my concern has been with junior ump not protecting players in junior grades which has resulted with us anyway 2 parnets pulling there kids out of footy.but ump are ump and you will never change a umps mind.
