Don’t Throw Spoons !
Just found this little gem……

"Finally a new low was set in WAFL in round 10 when a West Perth fan hurled a wooden spoon
at Tony Micale’s head, causing a retaliatory response from East Perth coaching staff."

Statistically South still have a chance to avoid the dreaded spoon, and create football history.
The only other team in the race for the splintered egg beater is the Port Magpies who are currently 3 games adrift in 8th place. South's percentage is shocking however, so that may as well be 4 games. Since there are only 4 games left to play for both sides there is very little margin for error.

The run home:
Port: R19 West (away), R20 Norwood (home), R21 Bye, R22 South (away), R23 Sturt (home).
South: R19 Bye, R20 Eagles (away), R21 Centrals (away), R22 Port (home), R23 North (away).

As you can see, it is almost a certain impossibility for South to drag itself off bottom, but it will not be official until either (A) Port win 2 games, or (B) South lose 2 games, or (C) Port win one and South lose one.
Of course Port haven't held the woodwork aloft for over 100 hundred years, so it would definitely be history in the making if ithey should ever do it again.

How's Jar's doing over there in the WAFL? I think I read somewhere a while back that his side was looking at some spoon trouble also. I think he said he's going to run around nude somewhere if his team didn't make the finals this year. Perhaps we could get a French painter to capture the moment?

Perth lost to Subi after a pretty decent standard up until about 5 minutes into the last. Jarman spent about ten minutes after the game screaming at the players.

He's going to have to get his gear off. That loss pretty much seals missing the finals, although we'd be unlucky to finish bottom. Perth have had some decent wins in recent weeks.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Did he make another one of those silly statements and threaten to nude up if they didn't make the finals or something?

Port's loss to the Bloods means the contest for the spoon is still on. South can still afford to lose one and be in the hunt to avoid spoonification, provided Port don't win one.
Big weekend to see how much courage the Panthers can muster to knock the Eagles over, but things aren't looking good. Port on the other hand have Norwood, which is a more winnable assignment.
Could this be the weekend the spoon is decided?

If Port lose two out of the last three matches, that will be a record amount of losses in the one season. Current record is 14, set in 1985 and 2002.

The painter may as well start preparing the canvas. Last Saturday Jarman's side, Perth, were thumped on their home ground by East Perth to the tune of 118 pts!

Yes, he said this at the start of the year. Season over. Utterly flogged by East Perth on the weekend.

There was no screaming this time. Just the calm realisation that he's going to have to do this.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
