Duldig was really good. His forward pressure was fantastic including him kicking a goal after winning a holding the ball free kick. It was a terrific team effort by all the Bay boys and a solid effort.

Best for the Bays for me was Salopek, Murphy, Backwell, Carr, Duldig, McConnell, Cranston, Allen, Kirk. I have no doubt I have missed some deserving people out as it was a great team effort.

Thought White easily beat Mills but when Kirk went on to him he could go with him for pace and that helped the Bays to get on top.

The only thing worse than the 3 Umpires today was umpire Deboy last week.

The Roosters weren't as bad as some of you guys make out; they tried hard enough, and there were periods when they were on the front foot. Over the whole four quarters however Glenelg was simply the better team.

Great to see the Bays finally string together 4 solid quarters. Were this not the case then the scores would have been a lot closer, because - again - North also played 4 quarters. Kudos to Duldig for having an immediate effect on his first game back in the seniors, though he quietened as the day wore on. Congrats to McConnell for a 6-goal bag; I'm glad to see him back and firing. Murphy BOG by a country mile, he made his presence felt at every contest all day.

Digging deep to find some negatives... I reckon they still overused the handball a little. Too keen to get a quick handball off rather than stand back and take a kick. Sometimes the kick would be a better option. Still need a little polish in front of goals too; one or two decisions made up forwards were not the best.

Mark of the season to North #9 (was that O'Hara?) on the grandstand wing in the second (?) term. That was a corker.

No, it was Stewart. sounded like he had a pretty decent game too considering he was on to play up forward and ended up having to ruck on his own for a lot of the game after North lost Ackland before the start and 2nd ruck O'Hara during the game.

Schwarze a handy pick up for North!! How has his behaviour been off field? Part of the reason he wasn't wanted at Oval Ave.

Good to see the umpires joining in the party and trying to be as bad as North.

Saw 3 of the worst umpiring decisions I've ever seen today and two of them were against Glenelg!

Just glad we didn't play the Bays of last year otherwise we would have lost by 20 goals.

Ackland pulling out* before the game didn't help.

I'm assuming one of those was the non paying of the deliberate out of bounds in the third term. The North player simply kicked it straight to the boundary with no players in sight yet wasn't pinged. I was staggered. Bays fans were quite rightly pissed off about that.

White, Allaway, Allan, Wright, McIntyre, Younie, Anderson, Gallman, Thiele, Stewart, O'Hara to name but a few. Yes you can argue they are still gelling under a new caching style but North as we saw at the bay earlier this year are a side if you take lightly will hurt you.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Security was interesting at games end
The umpires were escorted off by half a dozen of the Weslo staff
However when the GL players came off the ground there was not 1 Weslo staff within 50 mtrs

Star GL forward Justin Mcconnell was embraced by a MALe person about 15 mtrs into the crowd after he came off the oval .
This particular MALe gave Mcconnell a full on hug
No physicality involved
BUT
Next time it could be different with a grim outcome.

Bays deserved winners - ran harder off the ball to space, back up their team mates and played direct for most of the game despite North's flooding. The the bays smaller and mid sized players were just too physically stronger than ours in terms of being able to break tackles and also to apply tackles to our players and that allowed us no space and no run for most of the game.

From a North perspective the following:

Why when Ackland wasn't playing didn't Healy bring in either McEntee or James Craig to ruck instead of Thompson?
Why did Alleway play when he couldnt get his right arm up past his shoulder but at least he has a crack all day despite the odds and the injury? It doesn't help having Gill and Dodman unavailable but with Alleway restricted and O'Hara injured for more than half the game it left White as our only tall fwd when Stewart went into ruck?
Those two "selection" gambles were just plain dumb!
How does Armstrong continue to get a game?
Before we recruit any players we need to recruit a skills coach and a tackling coach. We couldn't hit the ocean with a kick if were standing on the shoreline at present and our tackling is deplorable - I doubt the likes of some of those softies in our league side at present would be able to make or break a tackle in the mini league!
How about the coach tries a new game plan for the remainder of the season - going long and direct "down the guts" instead of that dangerous across the ground rubbish that again coughed up at least 4 easy goals to opposition. Considering we won the centre clearances without either of our 1 and 2 ruckman at least gives an idea we can get the ball!

Finally the umpiring - terrible all day for both sides. Is it too much for a supporter to expect consistency? Instead you have to hold your breath every time the whisltle goes and try and guess which way they are going to pay a free?

Got nothing to do with security, security are given the assignment to escort the players off up until the 2nd siren goes.
Glenelg chose to remain on the oval after the 2nd siren to do some jogs to warm down I assume.
Incidents like that always have a chance to happen if a side decides they want to stay out there, it was why the 2nd siren was introduced, if Glenelg want to disregard that then so be it.

The umpires and North chose to leave the oval before the 2nd siren hence why they had security.

You might want to advise people of the full facts if you're going to go off on another one of your dramas mal, there was nothing wrong with what security did.

Pretty relieved after that game. Glenelgs form has been OK with out being brilliant, but yesterday we played the best I've seen for a while. I thought the Cocks were pretty good, but when it mattered the Bays worked harder.

Best for mine was Adlington, he's stepped up the past few weeks and has really settled into his role. Backwell, Carr & Murphy good today also, and nice to see Macca bob up with 6.

Well done Bays enjoy the week off, and then over to Dog Turd Oval we go.
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

Very poor crowd figure for the game. We know the Bays never draw that many to Prospect but Rooster numbers were down and not surprisingly given our form over the past 6 weeks or so.

Why North persist with the unnecessary Sunday fixtures is beyond me and I'm sure we only did it to accomodate Glenelg who only ever get good crowds at the Bay so why bother at Prospect.

Sat arvo football should be the clubs main wish re the draw next year!
