I feel sorry for Freeling they tried all day but against a fired up blocky outfit they had no chance. Prouse tried everything to stop Kennedy but he was just having one of those days. The big dissapointment for the day came when Britton went down in a marking contest and fell heavily. I can't confirm it just yet but it may look as though he has broken his pelvis or hip. The ambo's took him off and I think he was going to be a trip straight to the RAH. Will obviously try and confirm this. He has been in terrific form and we should all hope that he his alright.

The Panthers were ruthless in their demolition the out doggies.
Hadden’s charges set the game up in the first half, unfortunately the panthers took the foot off the Mercedes in the second half.
Brandon 'The Body' Kurtz had a day out with another BOG performance. Hopefully a call from Calvin Klein demanding him as a male underpants model won't deter his form come September.
It was a pleasure to welcome back the BL&G's own Diesel Williams, Diddles was fantastic in setting up countless contested possessions and winning many centre clearances, although probably underutilised.
After a sell-out, the 'B-TRAIN' and his entourage made a second half return, putting his first kick of the game through the big perpendiculars.
Coach Hadden would have had a warm fuzzy feeling after the game with the smell of September in the air and the 'B-TRAIN' rubber bands still in tact.

I'll be at elliot godger on saturday with my BB Gun to see the Train derailed it will be as though he'd been shot in the back of the leg the way he flips his head back and hits the ground in feotal position.

I suggest that you would still have a fair arsenal of weaponry available from the old Donnybrook days when the Donnybrooks were the northern headquarter for the outlawed bikie gangs.
Do you still have the secretly hidden bunker built by Josef Fritzl’s bunker where your amphetamine production used to happen.
The BB Gun would have to be a new type of gun Pinch Hitter.
Maybe I can invite you into one of my Taliban training camps before the game this week, so we can compare notes.

With 2 rounds of games to go before finals, I am predicting the ladder to finish

Tanunda
Nuriootpa
Gawler Central
Angaston

Willaston

Should make for some interesting finals, hopefully with MASSIVE CROWDS!!!
Also, after reading the barracker yesterday, 'Master Coach' Staff is sure to be in hot water regarding some of his comments, seriously just coach your team mate, not everyone looks up to you!

The Under 17 finals series also looks to be a cracker as well!

Your right there Draft pick 72, that obnoxious, arrogant knome is doing his club no favours with his continual public slamming of the umpires. Nuri to go out in straight sets as a result of his carry on. He might just get his wish that the umpires umpire nuri and not him, i believe he will be called before the directors as early as this week where he will be fined or SUSPENDED. The old walkie talkies may have to come back again

Expect Craig Dawe to experiment a little with his side today against a inexperienced Willaston. I know he is keen to try guys in other positions to get his match up's right for September action against Nuri , Ango and Tanunda.

King , Jenner , Taylor will cause kaos for zoolander today, just wont have the resources to stop them all.

pac-man dawe and your tigers will be in a lot of trouble come september if todays showing is anything to go by. not sure i witnessed many experiments that worked, the usual cards were played and were looking second rate against the inexperienced donnybrooks.

Dawe would be relieved they got a win in the end when willaston stopped about 10 mins into the last Hahn got them the points. the blokes on the sidelines were just lucky i'd finished my 6 pack before the donnybrooks ran out steam.

i couldnt agree more there PH. central were very ordinary today, hahn and taylor and murch got them over the line in the last 1/4. wackas boys will not see any september action this year IMO. with the "B" double getting thru todays game ango will make very light work of the front running pussycats.
did WAC and pac-man manage to sneak in2 todays game? if u 2 did which of the 6 big mouths at the bar were u 2? i have a feeling u are alot closer to the brains trust than u are letting on WAC

Daisy- Wacka is a very astute operator and certainly doesnt need my help. As i said before i dont get to all the games but did get in yesterday once the gate keepers were gone and i couldnt believe the score. The boys were down by 5 goals at 3/4 time with key players on the bench. A great last 1/4 by hill, howard, hahn and taylor got the lads out of jail. I did notice a very strange matchup with les baker on scooter hahn, it didnt appear to work with hahn booting 3 in the last.
How can you say Angaston will beat the tigers in the semi, they havnt got close to us all year and if they have to carry the fairly sizeable Bascombe on their shoulders they are as much of a chance of winning as the council is of getting any money out of the gawler clubs. Seriously who do the council think they are?

Obviously Pinocchio pulled a rabbit out of the hat with that match up.
Just like the Gawler council have a chance of getting money out of the Gawler clubs.
I have as much chance of getting blood out of a stone.

Just wondering where the finals are being played this year?
I know the grand final is being played at Freeling, but I've also been told the preliminary is at Kapunda, the 2nd Semi is at Barossa and also been told Tanunda, Centrals and Willaston so I'm not so sure.

Great to see a fellow Magpie spearhead get a big bag full.

Tanunda's only threat will be Nuri come finals time, GC's dont seem to be doing enough and reading the above posts, Angaston are pinning there hopes of finals success on a slow , old , over weight , dwarf with fragile strings.

Dawe is one of the boys, good lad great coach.. how he would go without the cattle is only a story bradman can enlighten us on.

i was chewin the fat with mick rann at half time on sat and he was sayn he hopes pac mans boys can get the gold this year cos hahn, taylor, wozniak, cluse, king and vivian are looking for a swan song to end their careers at the liar. Must admit i was surprised that ranny is so in touch with the grass roots. I asked if he knew of bascombe and he asked if that was some kind of polish chocolate.

Surely Ranny wasn't at Gawler Centrals.
Although, it would be a good opportunity for him to see how the Global Financial Crisis is really affecting grass roots football in a blue collar district.
Did you pull a few a few strings and run the lease arrangement demanded by the Gawler council past him Pinch Hitter.
Was Jane Lomax Smith with Ranny?
I'm pretty sure Ranny be familiar with Bascombe, he has had to pass legislation on a number items, Ranny most recently impounded and crushed the 'BTRAINS' car.

For any concerned it looks as though Britton has been cleared of any breaks but has severe bruising and a blood clot at the base of his spine which has to be drained. He may well be back for finals if all goes well but the doctors are still assessing at him and there still maybe more damage.

Whats the go with this Gawler council rent.

yes the gawler derby attracted fans of the highest order iron mike tossed the coin on saturday.

the donnybrooks have been quite happy after meeting with the council, apparently they want the clubs to continue to serve the community but if they can't afford to pay leases with the current volunteer based systems the council are going to bring in their own people to run the club and use councils funds to put a super team together that might just make gawler competitive with the barossa clubs.

Re: 2009 BL&G Season

Postby Queen Vic. » Mon Aug 10, 2009 10:22 pm

This is my 1st post. I have been reading the forum for around year now,
However I feel the need to join and post

I am a member of the Barossa District Football Club and the Bay 13 supporters group,
The happens over the past three weeks have both disappointed me and left me amazed.

Five seasons ago my club was talked about as the worst in the state, week in week out easily beaten. As a club we would leave the ground happy if we had a good second quarter or lost by less then 10 goals. At the end of the 2004 season the Hills League was a really possibility. The club was in trouble. I am unsure how but along come Steve O Connor and Rian Nelson. In 2005 they changed my club for the better they may have upset a few, but the place needed it.

In 2006 and 2007 will go down as the some of the most special day in the two towns the club represents. In 06 to be in the Bay and to have what felt like thousands of people watching was just magic.

The decision by Steve to leave was disappointing, but deep down we all understood. His job was done. The decision to appoint Rian Nelson I see could have been see from outside the club as a strange decision but from inside the mans passion for the game is at a entirely new level something never seen at the club before and he was much more then an assistant to Steve, in 2007 Rian would coached a few games under Steve guidance. (Grooming if you like). In 2008 beaten in the GF by Tanunda was hard to take, but were beaten by a very good football side. However the Bulldogs had made three GF appearances.

To this Year, over the summer a few players moved on Martin/ Chamberlain moved to Melbourne, Wunderstiz, Lister retired, Stelzers wanted to play at Renmark were Dad lives, James Moved to Clare, Spicer to play in the town he lives, It was time to rebuild…

This year to play the young guys we have and still be a chance for finals action before the decision to sack Nelson was a credit to both coaches and players. This leads me to three weeks ago. Having never coach I think all coaches know one day they will be replaced, But to tell a guy who help save my club from Hills div 2 and win flags has left me extremely disappointed and then to go to Saturdays game V Angaston and witness that words can no describe my feeling towards the decision maker at my club.

In the crowd on Saturday I heard that the few sponsors will be pulling there money, other Coaches quitting, other promises broken, Trainer quitting, players not returning next year, the over the top cost of the new coach, (which is not his fault), I see player who look like they are just marking off the days until season end, all because a board has no football brains or ability to deal with people.

This is a long post, but understand as a member I am just disappointed. Some will say that by writing this it may not be the best for the club, But it think it is best they read it, and I shared my views with the decision maker at my club last Saturday.

WOW. This i'm sure will get plenty of comment's.What can i say, welcome. And well said
Back to the creek it is.

Member of bay 13 haha seems you guys didn't show up either!! Looked across at different stages thru the day and could count the members on 1 hand at any given time. Would suggest leave the tent at home and bring an umbrella next time, should still have plenty of room to move!! You guys in that tent have been a disgrace to yourselves numerous times over the years and i am of the belief every DOG has there day. Pity when you had yours you weren't more humble in victory!! Guess your getting your just deserves!
