Gotta say I enjoy Warnie's commentary - you can just imagine that what he says in the commentary box is what he would be saying on the field. Other commentators definitely seem to commentate with the benefit of the TV coverage whereas Warnie seems to watch the game as though he is playing the game and not spectating.

6/350

North has started to score more freely against the new ball here and has moved onto 77.

6/352 currently which gives us a lead of 250. What a position to be in before tea on day 2.

Does anyone have any idea of Haddin's record against the new ball in Tests? I would venture to say it would be very poor indeed. Something a number 7 needs to work on.

Warnie has proven to me what I always suspected. He is a very astute judge of cricket, and he has been great to listen to. No doubt would have made a great captain.

Johnson is really struggling to get bat on ball at the moment. I wanna see him belting the hapless Poms not looking like he can't bat to save himself :( :( .

If he could've fitted the mould off the field he probably would've been skipper at some stage. His knowledge of the game is superb.

And isn't it great to hear an Aussie accent out there. After the first test I was really needing one.

Yep, he's a cricketing legend. Even good at commentary, and doesn't seem to have to try - just comes naturally. I wish he could have been a skipper, we would have had a more imaginative brand of captaincy than the Waugh/Ponting era.

What ... infidelity, chain smoking, hookers, texting other's wives, pizzas and Indian SP bookie mates not what the selectors wanted off the field?

Its interesting to listen to those who have played with him in the IPL - many of the young Indian cricketers and even other internationals have all had nothing but praise for his captaincy in the IPL, saying how much they have learnt from him in that format.

Haha!! Broad upset with the batsman not being ready when he got to the top of his mark. Stuey, who was it yesterday who made the bowler wait several times as he tried to waste time before lunch? Oh, that's right .... it was you!!!

As has been posted many times during this series, he would have been an outstanding captain if he was given the chance (other then a few one dayers).

Yes all of those things made it hard for him to be given the captaincy.

Imagine if we had an era after Steve Waugh with Warnie as Captain and Boof Lehmann as Vice Captain?

I recently asked someone close to the team "who is the person in the Aussie cricket team around whom everyone congregates - a natural magnet respected equally by all? Like what Boof Lehmann was when he was in the team?"

After a short period of silence the answer came back. "There isn't one".
