10,000 runs in a decade?

Postby Dissident » Thu Aug 06, 2009 11:05 am

Can Punter do it?

http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/rec ... ype=decade

Probably not ;)
(Oh, and don't get smart with a decade being any 10 years, I mean 70s, 80s, 90s etc)

We will win a few games if he does get there. How many tests does he have to get it? 2 left against the poms and 3 in Australia before xmas??

Does the decade end on 31/12/2010 or 31/12/2009?

If said decade ends on the 31/12/2009, Punter will have 5 Test available to get the 899 runs. Two remaining Ashes Tests and three Tests against West Indies at home from Nov-Dec 09. So that is potentially 10 innings, in which he needs to average 89.90 for each! I'd say no, but we would win the next 5 Tests if he does!

If it ends on 31/12/2010, then he should easily do it. There'll be something like 12-15 Test matches during 2010 and barring injury or retirement, he'll be picked for every one.

well two double tons against the west indies will help  he should make mass amounts of runs against them!

however he will prob only bat once against the west indies in one or two games no doubt!

Bring on a couple big scores in the ashes. we bat first in the 4th and 5th test with him making double tons. would be great to see!

Good chance he wont even get one bat, if the WI bring their second rate side

Forgot that one!

Yes, the Windies tests could be a massive farce if their second string side is sent over. They just lost two Test (at home) to Bangladesh...

Im very suprised by the 90s stats.

Stewart the leading test run scorer in that decade. I noticed ponting on the list right down the bottom.
Lara and Tendulkar right next to each other, with tendulkar averagin 58 and lara 51.

Its good seeing stats like these

Sorry mate! When you said "right down the bottom" I thought you were implying he wasn't that good in the 90s.
