HFL Secretary is a paid position. The secretary is all over this stuff in my experience.

What a sad sight I saw yesterday at Lobethal Oval. Went back to the old club and there were hardly any spectators there or any atmosphere at all. The bar was empty half way thru the 3rd quarter and it made me sad to see such a once proud club obviously become what it has. The worrying thing is that they don't seem to have a lot of younger players coming thru their junior grades either. I was taken aback with the behaviour of the coaches in all grades particularly the senior colts guy who ever he is. If that thug culture he obviously is trying to instill in kids is the future of the club we may as well pack it in now. The Tigers should seriously look at going back to country division and try to win some games and go from there. Ironbank on the other hand have done the hard yards and even though it was a scrappy affair seem to be on the right path. I can see what they mean about that Cheif Bradley and their kids from senior colts, Hulme, Irwin, O'sullivan and that young Shearwood can all play. No doubt with another 2 or 3 hard nuts they will take the next step. Hopefully 2010 can be a defining year for the tigers and the right coach found. Time now for all at the club to help out or perish.

Agree with you Has been. Saw them last week and Loby are terrible in all grades. You are right about that 17's coach of theirs. Bit ferral, but so were some of their parents. They have some good kids but he teaches them to play the man and not use their skills. I would actually blame the umps at that level as from what I see they don't protect the ball player. The standard of umpiring is questionable some times but then again what do we expect when they are hard to get. Maybe we should be grateful they turn up.I suppose be happy your kids are not being coached by him. The club (loby) need to go back to country and rebuild. Lets see how stubborn and pig headed they are.

I can't believe the comments about Lobethal u/17's, their coach is very good, definately not a thug and doing a pretty good job - maybe you have him confused with a parent or spectator. He has them playing some really good footy at the moment and remember they lost 3 or 4 early games by less than a goal or so, if they had managed to win them they would definately be playing finals. Fair enough to bag the senior club but honestly the u/17's are actually doing it right - give some credit. By the way the way they that club has treated their senior coach is a disgrace - it starts from the top and their senior committee need a rocket, if you take that job on you would to be watching your back.

I wouldn't write Lobey off just yet, they have a lot of juniors playing footy down town and they are hopeful a fair few of those lads will come back at some stage...they're just going through a tough period like most clubs do at some stage.

And there's every chance a current sanfl league player who's brothers play at Lobey will be pulling on the guernsey next year and brining a few of his close mates with him. Throw 3 or 4 good players into the mix with the current players running around and i think you'd see a dramatically improved team, much like birdwood. Early days though.

Agreed, Mt Lofty have definately been sneaking under the radar. Any team that has won three premierships in a row cannot be discounted.
On another note, even if you dont support Uraidla, surely they have to be premiership favourites atm?? Their form coming into finals is undoubtedly better than any other teams

Toad17 definately heard the coach tell the full back to take out the young full forward who was kicking all the goals. That combined with the lady aged about 55 who was telling the same kid to f..... off every time he kicked one. Think he kicked 8 in the end but that was embarrasinng from a loby viewpoint as what a fine example that lady sets to kids. Agree the top end of the club needs to look closely at itself. I know a few sponsors won't be going around again because of the culture there this year. Unfortunate that. Do agree that they have 3-4 good kids, but think you'll find those down town don't want to come back as it is.

That would have been Adam Shearwood kicking the goals. Filled in for 17s who were short as well as playing As only to get treatment like that. If these people had any brains they would support young fellas like this playing as many HFL Games as possible.

Only saw the first half of the U/17's but must say the Ironbank supporters who post on here are seriously confused or 1 eyed.. All i heard for the part i watched was horrible language coming from the Ironbank box. Now im not sure if it was the coach or the guy next to him but sad to here all the same. Some real talent from both full forwards from both teams but the Ironbank lads got real upset when ever 50/50 decisions didn't go there way but it was clear from the sidelines that is the way they've been taught!!!

I saw the whole bloody game and I barrack for Loby - I know what I saw. The only reason the banker coaching boys got upset was because the umps did not protect the kid at full forward going for the ball. My eyes and ears don't deceive me. Theyve done me good for over 60 years now. Maybe you were the feral telling em to f....... You are yet another indicator of where the club is at.

yeh there hunger is deffinately back, especially seeing as they lost on the weekend it must mean there hunger is back, i think blackwood the maggies and cabbage will eat them alive come finals, i think there major hopes relied on young sammy miles but he isnt going back so i believe the fat lady has sung on 4 in a row challenge, its a 3 horse race between hahndy woodys and cabbage.

the brown brothers have been awesome for uri this year, playing different roles then in previous year. dillon isnt kicking as many goals but sets them up all day long, and joel is crashing packs and creating crumbs for the little fellars, any ruckman sitting in the hole will feel it thats for sure. zills left the club in the middle of the yr, rumour has it because he couldnt crack into the a grade side, then he went to another club and i think he has left there alredi too.

WELL over 60 years by the sounds of things... perhaps your chair was facing the netball court??? Because the guy at full forward was Adam Shearwood, i think he kicked about 9 goals and none of our boys got anywhere near him to give away a free kick. The umpire your talking about is Travis Bahr who i think is a first year umpire and IMO did a pretty good job considering
