St. Kilda's first loss ...

Talk on the national game

St. Kilda's first loss ...

Postby Benchwarmer » Sun Aug 02, 2009 7:57 pm

I was tempted by Sydney's $6+ odds and nearly tipped them this week but I think the 'Aints will be "and one" this weekend when they go to Tassie to play the 'Orrible 'Awks. I have an inkling that they are going to drop this game.

Thoughts?

I was the same as you BW that the Swans may cause the upset this weekend, and nearly did.

If they are going to lose a game before the finals then yes this week against the Hawks is most probably the only one out of their remaining minor round games for it to happen. It will all depend on whether or not the Hawks are switched on and if Buddy can kick straight.

Nah, Preliminary or GF

Whatever happened to that old signature of yours benchwarmer? You know the one that predicted a bright future for the mighty blues, with Kruezer, Juddy and co, whilst St Kilda were in for some typically lean times with a bunch of old reject hacks from other clubs..... ;)

Every chance we could get knocked off this week. Hawthorn's last chance really, and St K have never played overly well at YP. Having said that I'll still be picking the Saints.

I was going to back the Hawks next week in an upset, but it depended on a win at Football Park yesterday, which never happened. If we can't beat Port Adelaide, we have no right to expect victory over the Saints.

Go the Saints. Who says they are going to have a loss? If any club deserves a perfect season it is these guys. Naturally enough I'll be hoping that my mob are the ones that can spoil the party.

Would the group yet be at a point where they set out to go through undefeated?

Each player would have thought of it individually.

Ross Lyon is kissed on the dick. The only team that can stop the Saints is a fully fit Geelong and every week we cop another one. Might as well start engraving the cup now. !@#$%^!!!

so with Fisher out too if the Hawks don't win this week they should be shot!

Port will lose to Freo, just cos this is there down week and they have to travel ALL the way to Perth...
Essendon lose to Brisbane and the Hawks are in the 8...
plus Carlton lose to Geelong and they're only in by 1 game...

this first loss for St Kilda is going to change the outcome of the last couple of spots...

Yeah we are "resting" a few players but I still think we are good enough to win.

You have to remember that mindless optimism goes hand in hand with barracking for the Sainters! ;)

With Geelong going down, the decision to rest their stars is already looking justified.... (even if they do lose)
