AFL Players IMO -
Carr/Meyer serviceable
Salopek pretty good
Douglas terrible, would not want to play like that again otherwise he might be kicking the dew
Walker was solid but needs to do more
Good to get the win and move on...

Salopek was pretty quiet early, improved in the last term and managed 1.2 from memory. His day could've been a lot better had he kicked a few gettable goals in the last term. He was good, but a far cry from what he can be.
I think Sal was quiet early due to him playing the grandstand wing and Glenelg's obsession with going to the outer side at all times when kicking into the breeze.
Meyer was okay, didn't notice him much. Ditto with Carr but to tell you the truth I wasn't looking out for him much. Douglas just didn't find enough of the ball and his man hurt him the other way.

I thought the legs played one of their best games for the year. Hit the ball hard and the pressure and tackling was intense. Made the bays look soft many times.
Proud of the boys for their effort. Very much deserved to win today.

Glenelg premiership favourites? From what I saw today far from it.

Norwood very played well, no doubt, but I'm not sure they deserved to win today ... how often were the Legs in front in the 2nd half and they were nearly 4 goals down with less than 10 mins to play ... and umpiring played no part in the result I'm afraid.
I thought when the Bays were 20 odd points up that it would have been an unfair reflection of the closeness of the game, but 10 points in the end was a fair result.

That's what I like to hear. More of it please, especially after a win !
Quite right Centurion, Sturt out and out flag favourites by a country mile !

By my book if you're up by the vast majority of the 2nd half and win by 10 points when the opposition kick the last 2 goals then most people would concede that you don't deserve to lose.
On the umpires, well we must have been at different matches today ... if the Bays received some frees up forward then the Legs might look at their discipline. Umpires don't win games, players do for mine, always have and always will but I could be wrong ... I must be stupid because I've never blamed umpiring for a Bays loss because you can't control what you can't control.
It's OK if you want to blame umpires, but I assume you'll gladly hand Sturt the '78 premiership flag for that free/mark/whatever Gaggs received in the last quarter. Didn't matter back then? ... thought so.
At the end of the day, Norwood should be fairly proud the way their team played today and I rate that win against them because of that ... and Taylor Walker is too good for this level of comp.
Cheers ...
