LOL ! Poor Roo, I always spell his name wrong. Should've left it off as he looks like he'll be playing in the Magoos......

He's retired and a really really veyr funny man to listen to.

Sorry to digress here ... but that's utter crap.

FFS can't Campbell leave it alone? He's been telling that shafted story for nearly 25 years now.

Without trying to stir up a hornets nest (which will happen anyway x_x ), how can anyone who took a side to 7th and 3rd in a 2 year period when that same team played in the 2 GFs prior and the 4 GFs after that period say he was shafted? Even better, there were back to back premierships straight after he left.

Didn't he also mention the would have won the '84 flag but Super got 2 games for attempting to striking story as well?

He can bleat all he wants ... true, he is a a nice fella but that alone doesn't provide success and the record speaks for itself.

Here endeth the rant.

He got shafted because he received a handshake agreement from the club president at that time that he was to coach the club in 1985. Whether or not he should have continued... no matter his record... no matter how the side was travelling... he was assured the position for the following year and then got stabbed fair in the back.

Absolutely no matter and of course in hindsight it was a good decision. However the credibility/loyalty of those shaking his hand was lost by myself and many around the club at the time. Graham was a good honest bloke who gave his all. Did not deserve to be lied to.

But of course we all enjoyed the glory of 85/86.. albeit for some of us it was with a bitter taste.

Feel free to start a new thread in the history forum if you want to discuss old players/coaches or whatever and the 1980's but please try and get back on topic.

imho colins no problem but i'm afraid that tony umpires a style that makes me think he thinks people have come to watch him umpire & not watch the game

tony dey...PLEASE DON'T OVER UMPIRE TOMORROW LIKE LAST WEEKS DEBACLE (ESPECIALLY THE FIRST QUARTER) & OTHER NUETRAL GAMES I'VE WITNESSED, JUST LET THE GAME FLOW & YOU TOOK THE RECORD OF MOST 25 METRE PENALTIES IN A QUARTER LAST WEEK, FOR THE RECORD THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS SET BY BRANT CHAMBERS

I think they run a roster, no chance. The vitamin E deficiency in some hall moniters lives is indeed alarming.
