Where will they finish.....your thoughts?

Postby johntheclaret » Sat Jul 25, 2009 9:48 pm

With only 3 weeks to go there is still a bit of business to be done with perhaps some big movers on the last day, but where do you think each EPL side will finish this year?

to kick it off, here's mine.

1 Chelski.......... Finished strong last year and if Anchelotti can keep it together, will be tough to stop this year
2 Liverpool........If they can keep hold of Alonso and Masherano, will have benefitted from last years effort. runners up again though
3 Man U...........Two big outs in Ronaldo and Tevez. Has money to spend but whether he uses it or not is another question. Big risk in Owen.
4 Everton.........Was probably the best of the rest last year and Moyes has the ability to get the best out of what is limited resources
5 Spurs............Two great buys in Walker and Naughton from Sheffield, if they do land Crouch, Pertoleynko (sp) will have plenty of crumbs.
6 Arsenal..........No Adebayor, and whilst playing "nice" football, lack the muscle needed to win a title. Maybe Wengers last year.
7 Man City........Splashing the cash big time but a team full of champoins doesn't make a champoin team. Watch for a top 4 finish 2010
8 A Villa...........Two big losses and they showed they didn't have what it takes when the heat was on last year. A step back for this year
9 Fulham..........Much the same as last year. Can't win away and thet will be thier problem this year.
10 Stoke..........Tough at home, tough uncompromising football should do well against the poorer sides.
11 West Ham....Could finish anywhere from 7th to 11th, but have this knack of not delivering. Should be too strong for the weaker sides.
12 Sunderland...Bruce is probably the biggest signing they could get and he has the knack of getting results. should be good enough to aviod the drop
14 b4st4rds......Will survive this year because there are too many weaker sides, but watch out 2010.
15 Burnley........Will suprise a few this year. Plenty of spirit, and a few clever signings by one of the best managers outside the big 5.
16 Wolves........Relied on Blakes penalties too much last year and not strengthened enough. goals will be much harder to come by this year
17 Wigan.........Will miss Bruce and have a manager will little English experience, let alone EPL experience. will just hold on this season
18 Portsmouth..No one wants to play for them including thier current staff, too many off filed shenanigans, and look doomed this year.
19 Hull............Was lucky last year and only a good start saved them. They won't have that luxury again.
20 Birmingham..Very poor side last year, don't expect anything different this year. Perenniel yoyo's

1- Liverpool -: Its time for them to win it and last year proved to me that they have what it takes to get there
2- Arsenal -: The youngsters that Wenger has been keeping arent youngsters as they were the past few seasons. He has brought in a decent centre back, Rosicky returning, Eduardo could be the next Thierry Henry ( if he keeps from being injured )
3-Chelsea-: the usual chelsea with the big names that are there just for the money will help them
4- Man City-: The BIG spending will pay off in my eyes towards the end of season
5- Man United-: They will struggle as big names have moved on. Owen wont prove much as he showed this since he has left liverpool
6-Wigan-: New manager and a few new players will go a long way this season
7-Everton-: Might struggle at the start of the season as they always do. Will become great towards the end
8 - Burnley-: Will be a sunderland a few seasons when they came up. Watched the qualifying game at wembley and they impressed me very much
9-Tottenham-: Will be mid table all season
10-Aston Villa-: Martin Oneil will be shown the door if the run that villa had last season happens again, and i think it will with barry gone
11- Sunderland-: New manager and might spark them
12-Birmingham-: New team in the league may cause a few upsets
13-Blackburn-: Not sure on this side and havent heard much, heard a rumour that the owner was trying to clean house as not much money to throw around, may struggle mid season.
14-Portsmouth-: Usual pompey up and down all season, the thoughts of a new stadium may pre occupy them??
15-Fulham-: The games in Europe may keep them busy and they will struggle in the league
16-West Ham-: Havent heard much so this is where i think they will finish. Enough said on the hammers
17-Bolton-: Will struggle all season and barely make it again
18-Wolves-: Will have a good start but wont win a game from christmas to end of season
19-Hull City-: Only last this season as they barely made it last season. Another season in the Coke League
20-Stoke city-: Will be a derby from a few season agao and will win maybe 5 games.

thats my thoughts boys!!

1.CHELSEA have the defence to do it and a deep squad.
2.LIVERPOOL surpirsed that they didnt buy another central defender yet, if they do i think they can really push Chelsea.
3.MAN U will be interesting to see how they go with some big losses. vidic will need to be rock solid again too.
4.MAN CITY have bought some good players, will they gel though? too hard not to put them up there with the squad they have.
5.TOTTENHAM improved towards the end of last year and have the talent there.
6.ARSENAL have very good young players and they will need to step up quickly, big loss in Toure.
7.EVERTON always seem to finish around this mark, didn't buy much in the transfers bit of a concern though.
8.VILLA big losses in laursen and barry, but young to have another blinder of a year.
9.BOLTON will be this seasons surprise packet, like the buys of knight and ricketts.
10.SUNDERLAND possible improvers with bruce at the helm.
11.FULHAM pretty consistant last year and haven't lost much and may get Zamora.
12.BLACKBURN still have a fair squad.
13.PORTSMOUTH club could finish lower if board doesn't sort out what is going down there. Seems no one wants to be there.
14.BURNLEY a team with plenty of heart, shall survive.
15.WEST HAM will struggle at times, but should go alright against the lesser teams.
16.BIRMINGHAM have bought a few players in, which is good, needed more depth. Fahey to have a pearler of a year. GO YOU BLUES.
17.HULL bullard to carry the team to survival.
18.WOLVERHAMPTON to go down on the last day
19.WIGAN big loss in bullard
20.STOKE haven't bought enough firepower in.

Looks like everyone is writing off Man Utd...not too sure about that. Unlike 2 seasons ago when it was all about the goals last season Utd won the prem thanks to their stingy defence. Expect more goals from Rooney and berbatov this time around and i think Anderson is ready to take the next step in his game. Macheda could be the one to watch tho...Fergie has BIG wraps on this boy..

Liverpool & Chelski will both be pushing all the way. With Man City, Arsenal & Everton to fight for the crucial 4th position.
