Umpire Richard Williams - 400 games

You dont survive in the umpiring profession over 15 years and win the awards and accolades he has if you are as ****house at the job as one eyed biased fans think Richard is. Top umpire, Top Bloke. Deserves far more respect. if only players at my club made as few mistakes as he does per weekend.

Wedgie did you ever ask Dean Howard his opinion of Richard Williams? He certainly wouldn't give him a glowing endorsement. If Williams let his umpiring alone do the talking then maybe i could agree and say he has been the best umpire IMO but knowing what he has said to numerous west players in the past i will reserve my judgement of him.

What he has said probably wouldn't be much worse than what the players from any club have said to him over the years, nothing wrong with a bit of sledging both ways is there, they are all big boys! "Play On"

I agree sledging from a player to an ump about a decision is fine as is an umpire sledging a player about a skill error or something similar, but what RW said to Howard at the game at Adelaide Oval was something an umpire shouldn't say whether he believes it or not.

probably a fair bit from when he clobbered him at Richmond Oval, wasn't a bad one that one .
