IT WAS DIABOLICAL!!11

agreed they ruined a good game of football. Ridiculous free kicks and non free kicks all day.

Dogs very unlucky to lose that one.

all I can say is Ryan WIlliams WTF has happened

For a start, that wasn't a loss! It might have felt like one after that choke though... ;) Are you saying the umps cost the doggies the game? Didn't seem like it from my end, haven't seen the stats though.

The defensive pressure by the doggies forward line was huge most of the game, somehow they let it slip a bit late and paid the price. Good hard work by both sides most of the day.

Yes the umpires made plenty of bad ones...I felt like the rub went against the bays, but I am a bays man so always hard to tell. That "goal" down the snouts end was kicked a foot or two over the line easy.

BUT BUT BUT...when are we going to get some BLOODY GOALKICKING PRACTICE?? It's all very well to look after the process, but surely the one time that it's more about results is when you're having a crack at goal. It will be a sad thing if we lose a tight final with yet another of these sub 50% goal kicking games.

For someone who hasn't played a league game for 2 and a half months who kicks 3.2 including the one that's a bee's dick before the final siren to draw the game ... I'd take that as a reasonable game today from Macca ;)

Sorry. McConnell is a terrific player, a great team man and plays hard on and off the ball.
Please keep him in the League side for the finals.

I didn't 'slag off' my own team - just the two players that are not capable of playing SANFL league football at present. :D

only got there for the 2nd half, umpires were terrible but nothing can be done about it so I refuse to focus on it...

Bays still arent fully switched on, maybe thats a good thing? Dogs seem to be struggling with their last 1/4's of late, is that fair?

The flood kings didnt dissappoint today have all 18 playes in the I50 late in the 3rd when kicking with the wind  :? then in the last 1/4 Laird seemed to do a Neil Craig and go all defensive again!

Kirby's dropping a sitter that led to the Dogs only goal in the last 1/4 was pretty disappointing

Was a good solid contest....probably the hit out both teams needed

well done macca, will only get better from here

Ryan Williams fan club wasnt impressed today!

Good day at the footy and good to catch up with UK Fan, Royal City, whufc and meet Sam_Udogs for the first time

Diabolical game. I hate draws. Glenelg should feel like they won because I definitely feel like we lost. Still p!$$ed off as I type this now.

I wish our players would look where they're handballing instead of handballing to the voice. Saw at least 2 occassions by 2 players who should know better, where they handballed straight to the chest when they were called, only to see that it was a Glenelg player. Why are kicks and handballs so deadly accurate when they go to the opposition when the ones that should be aren't? That bounce on the cricket pitch and a couple of missed marks didn't help.

Two weeks in a row we've thrown the minor premiership away.
R. Williams should be dropped (you can work out which one I mean).

I think both sides will take positives out of todays game for when they play each other next (most likely the 2nd Semi Final). Centrals will look forward to playing with Havelburg (very important for their forward structure) and when they have finished their finals fitness tune up (last qtr fade outs).

Bays will look forward to playing Centrals with Backwell, Holmes, Meyer and at least one of Carr, Logan and Douglas. We will also look forward to playing the Dogs with the requisite application with respect to the "hard things" for the whole game. As I understand it we were 60 down on our average for the first half.

Finally I dip me lid to Toddy Gima who has apparently broken his wrist (3rd qtr) played the rest of the game out with it and contributed when pushed down back.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

can you explain how it looks like the dogs choked? 1 straight goal into the wind... against 4.4. Pretty similar amount of scoring shots through the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. I'd say struggled to hold on.... but definitely not a choke.

Centrals started off with the breeze, and at quarter time wasn't sure if we've taken full advantage of it. Whilst we're fiercely attackung the ball and generating Glenelg turnovers, somee of our passing was quite ordinary.

In the second quarter, after Glenelg got back to within a kick, it was pretty much all Centrals as they took control of the game. Highlight was Sansbury's running goal halfwst through the quarter creating by constant pressure from the midfieldresulting in a clearance and goal. Our constant harrassment of any Glenelg player with possession caused plenty of turnovers. The second quarter was some of the best football we've played all year.

The third quarter was a tight, torrid third quarter where Glenelg dominated the first half and Centrals the second.

Centrals should have finished off Glenelg in the last but a combination of a lack of killer instinct and Glenelg not giving up saw the draw eventuate. These final quarter fadeouts have to be addressed because we can't be doing this in finals, and they're just around the corner.

Did anyone else think the surface at Gliderol Stadium was very ordinary? Lots of dead patches and contributed to several turnovers. Was there any live grass on the ground? Resembled a cow paddock today.

All up, we drew with the form side of the competition, which still gives us somewhat of an edge over Glenelg - particularly if/when we play them in finals on a bigger ground and superior surface.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Disclaimer: I am drunk.

But if I understand this right, this is the first time Glenelg and Centrals have drawn, ever?

P.S. What a crappy result for Sturt!

Didn't think of it along the lines of how the result affects Sturt ... all that percentage now just a complete waste. Bummer.
Agree with most of the sentiments here about Macca but he had some of that old verve back yesterday .. footy smarts you might call it. He was often in the right place at the right time and kudos to him, kicked the tying goal on the siren (not that I heard it either).
He'll certainly get the opportunity to hold his place in the side which is one he deserves. Thought Hally was our best.
And yes, it felt like a win.
