I don't think that Centrals have played a game this year with their best, available and full strength side.

These are the players on their current injury list:

Ashley Duncan: Hamstring (Indefinite)

Justin Hardy: Thigh (1 week)

Daniel Havelberg: Hamstring (3 weeks)

James Moss: Hip (Season)

Of the players on that list Daniel Havelberg would have to be a 100% definate starter in their best 21 and Justin Hardy would probably force his way into that side as well. James Moss hasn't played at all this season and will not resume this year while it looks as though Ash Duncan, who is a definate player of the future and one to watch, is gone for the year as well.

In terms of AFL players that have qualified (so far) for SANFL finals, Brad Symes and Jon Griffin from the Crows would slot into the Dogs 21 as well. Although it is getting late in the season, it isn't without possibility that Justin Westhoff could end up qualifying while brother Matthew and untried AFL ruckman Jon Giles are qualified from the Power.

Then from the reserves, players such as Adam Switala, Jonathon Giles, Leigh Westhoff, Thomas Dunne, Charles Slattery and Luke Barmby have all played league footy and could step in if needed. On top of that, there is talent like Daniel Menzel, Ben Nason, Luke Habel, Sean Brading and Dave Allocca all playing well in the 2's and would be capable at league level if an opportunity should arise.

I think the league side listed above is about 80% full strength and the biggest inclusion IMHO will be Daniel Havelberg who adds versatility and KPP class. The biggest problem for the Dogs this season has been in part not having a full compliment of available personell but more importantly, not playing 4 consistent quarters in the 1 game. I think the Doggies are a good chance to upset the Bays tomorrow, can't wait for it.

How a Centrals win tomorrow can be seen by any person claiming to have football knowledge as an "upset" has got me beat, given the current state of the premiership table and recent results between the two sides...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Where in the above post did I claim to have any 'football knowledge', I was simply implying that leading into the game, the Bays should go in as favourites because with the Dogs inconsistancy in recent weeks, if they don't put 4 quarters together against the Bays, they wont win. The state of the Premiership ladder has proven this year in various games to be irrelevant anyway and recent results mean nothing when the last game played between the 2 sides was about 3 months ago.

Yes, the Bays haven't played their absolute best for a couple of weeks either, but they haven't lost any games for over 2 months now, the Dogs have dropped a couple. I personally think that Glenelg are the better side at present and whilst 'upset' may not be the best term to have used, if you read the word in the context in which I wrote it, you could take it as saying that Glenelg would be 'upset' if they lost to Central, not neccessarily that the result would be an upset.

If the visitors get do happen to get up, it may not have been expected by some, including a person with football knowledge in Warren Partland, so could be classified as an upset I guess ?

Do you think the Bays will win am Bays ?

I know Meyer and Logan haven't been named for the Power or the Bays Jabber, but are either of them a chance to be lining up in the black and gold tomorrow ?

If they do, I think it could change the outcome of the game because Meyer provides great run and carry from half back which is handy on smaller ovals and with Carr out due to the flu, Tommy Logan is that hard player who would be suited to the game and conditions.

I think the Dogs by 5 points in a thriller, let's hope we get at least 4,000 there tomorrow...

Well, yes, I understand that Dutchy, but I asked specifically where I mentioned that in the original post above

And yes, if you check my post again, I realised that it is 3 months (actually to the day tomorrow ;) ) and have edited the post accordingly. :D

Why would you do that dedja and jabber

If you had any 'football knowledge' you would know that according to the position on the ladder, the fact that it is being played at "Fortress Gliderol" (Glenelg have won 20 out of their last 21 games at the Bay - the only loss to South last year - thanks to Bayman for that stat) would surely mean the Tigers by plenty ;)

The missus will be picking me up from the Ashford ;)

Anyway, back to the game, I'm really looking forward to the Sibenaler v Grima match up, the 2 like to give it to each other.

P.S - I hope Rowston is not officiating tomorrow :?

It's a bit like Richard Williams, who gets jeered even when he is not officiating the actual game

BTW, congrats to Richard Williams who will be umpiring his 400th league game tomorrow, where ever that may be.

The Crows haven't finalised their side as yet as far as I can tell and the Power will release their final side at 4.30pm according to their web site.
