With Roger (if he plays) and brother Paul and a smattering of other talent tagging along me's thinking Barossa's spell
out of the finals may be 1 year only....
Gawler V Ango this week irrelevant, neither will reveal much, neither will catch Nuri for 2nd,
Ango with 5-6 guys out and Gawler coming off the bye and guys returning will mean this clash will not have any
insights for the 1st semi as the Centrals boys should win relatively easy... If Stewie White is back will be a good battle
between a prolific forward line for Gawler and what is a very solid back 6 for Ango.
Even if this game has a 10 goal margin on Saturday, would still back a full strength Ango at Tanunda in the semi.

Nelson was told he would not be reappointed next season and so made the only decision he could and resigned, although I'm told that happened Monday.
The players were told tonight at training, and I've been asked not to name the bloke who will fill in. It will be obvious soon though.
The club has stitched up the new coach for 2010, and he is, indeed, a big name (retired a couple of years ago)with a bit of coaching experience under his belt now.
There are a couple of reasons for the decision, though it is difficult for me to put them in here. As some would know, Rian and I didn't exctly get on like a house on fire, so I'll leave that to other forum users. Suffice to say, I thought he was actually doing the right things by the club for its long term future.
What do you think footy followers?

Although i might like to take the piss out of sponge you have to feel for the big fella, he hasn't even been given a chance one year after he takes them to a GF and after 3 years of putting in huge hours under occonnor. Certainly dont blame him for walking out.

Barossa are kidding themselves if they think its nelson's fault they are shite this year, any club that loses half a side after playing a GF are going to struggle.

This is huge news... the beginning of the end for the bulldogs.

Any chance Willaston will throw Nelson a lifeline and give him a gig next year in any coaching capacity ?

Surely he has something else to offer this caper , Ruck coach.

LOL what is there to reveal, if these coaches don't know their opposition by now Lubke and Stafford will eat them alive.

Meant....will reveal little in positional changes and any recently thought up strategies.
Wouldn't think either coach would consider this make or break, Gawler maybe a little just to rubber stamp 4th.
Sure you wanna win, but very few tears will be shed by the loser.
Not sure if the "great" Stafford has learnt too much about Ango, played right into their hands the 2nd time
they lost to them this year. From what I saw he learnt about as much about Ango as Wile E Coyote has
about the Road Runner, and lets be honest the Coyote has had a horrible run of luck hampering him.

Winning form is good form and a 10 goal win by the tigers this week will show you that they have the wood over ango which wont change in a months time either.

Winning form? something the Gawler tigers wont have going into the 1st semi after losing to Tanunda.
Ango appear to be just drifting toward the bye, freshen up, then 3 games against reasonable clubs.
Beware the Panthers come finals time, think they are a big smoky.
Saturdays game will have zero effect in a month, apart from the lingering minor leg fractures that occur from running around
on 'Granite park'.
Only thing that is certain is Gawler cannot beat Tanunda in a Grand Final, Nuri or Ango could cause an upset
if all the stars are aligned.

If you're serious I will give you $300 and place bets of $100 on each of Gawler, Nuri and Ango to make the Grand Final. $-) 8)

All Odds are ficticious considering the odds are made up in a moments thought
without any consideration of 'hedged' bets.

Wrong on both counts. Reliable source informs me an announcement will be made very soon and neither Nelson or Oconnor will be in charge next season. Watch this space....

Plugger04 did you get the job?

Roger James , will be coaching next year P Hitter.

His contacts within the SANFL has secured the job bringing a handfull of players to the BDFC.

Nelson was always just going to be the filll in coach until someone like Roger was available. Could be some bad blood between former coach and club.

Think you will find its Brad James current coach and favourite son of Kersbrook

Think you will find Brett James coaches Kersbrook. His brother, Roger (ex Power) will coach the Bulldogs next season. Brad James was an ex-BDFC player who left for Clare at the end of 2008.

Personally I think both clubs are at the same stage of development, a number of youngsters, new coaches, etc and are both fine sides this year!!

Draft Pick 72- QUESTION- Are GC and Ango part of the BL&G? ANSWER- Yes. As such you would expect some talk about them especially as they are playing each other this week. Your quite welcome to talk about your club.

A lot has happened since internet went down in the cave some 48 hours ago.
An unanimous decision has been reached that Pech and Bain are far superior than WEARECOMING's kids :supz:
Unsure in the method of Basossa Districts timing in announcing a new coach, although it is a good signing.
I would have thought that announcing the decision until the end of the season would have been more suitable timed for all involved. Unless Sponge was onto his lunch being cut.
Be interesting to see the thoughts of Bradman on this one.

Not so sure about counting on Roger playing next year, but if he does, won't cost Barossa an import. As for counting Paul in Barossa's team next year, I'm sure Roger and Barossa will be working on other recruits more likely to suit up for the Bulldogs in 2010.

I would have to agree with you there, Tregenza is my tip to take home the bacon.
I still think Ben Newberry & Matthew Dawes also have a chance.
