Aah, that hurts. 75 years of history...

Come on Aussies and come back hard. We do NOT want to see another bloody ticker tape parade and OBE handouts for these pommy barstards.

:( :( .

It hurts losing to the Poms. Hopefully Rudi doesn't get another game in this series. Well batted Strauss and Cook they were the difference.

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt yesterday with the catch but after seeing the replay and photos, I don't think there is anyway he could say he defnitely took that catch. Which makes him a cheat in my book and as they say 'cheats never prosper'.

Come on Pup and Haddin. You can do it!

Settle down, Australia has a history of claiming catches that look suspect on the T.V replay. I can remember S.Waugh being called a cheat after claiming Lara some time ago in the West Indies. Also Healy stumping Haynes without the ball in his gloves. I know they are sometime ago but there are have been one or two in most series. I have no doubt Strauss thought he had caught the catch its up to the umpires to make the decision.

What other people have done in the past, whether they be Australian or not, does not mean Strauss is not a cheat.

Tell me how did Strauss cheat, remembering that the umpires make the decisions and even have the help of a third umpire with T.V replays.

He claimed he caught it. He didn't at any stage suggest he was unsure and that it should be referred. CHEAT!

Next game is extremely important.

I'd replace Siddle with Clark and Johnson with Lee (if he's fit). We have yet to take 20 wickets this series and changes are needed.

He's not though. His record proves he is a reasonable bowler but not that good and an average batsman. One or two good performances doesn't mean he is anything other than that. Sure he was fantastic today but the guy averages over 30 with the ball (seriously that is just a good average record) and just over 30 with the bat. Yes he has stood up a couple of times but if he was truly a great player he would have done more than he has in his career.

He was fantastic in this match though so don't get me wrong. I take nothing away from his performance at Lords.

The Cadet, just a take it or leave it bit of advice ... if you want to go to bed before 3am tonight (which will happen if you keep going with RR) spend some time going through the posts from last night on the Strauss 'catch'. ;)

As critical as i have been of Johnson's bowling he cannot and will not get dropped. He is still our best bowler he's just out of form. He can and hopefully will turn it around.

Agreed RR he is a good all rounder, not a great one. He hasn't done enough with either bat or ball to be a great one, he has however had some great performances and todays bowling was one of those.

So you subscribe to selecting players on reputation rather than form? That's where Norwood came unstuck :)

Congrats to England. First innings cost us. Good fight back in the second dig. Game was over when Clarke was out

Correct. Tonight he WAS that good. He stood up and performed when it needed to be done. In the absence of anyone in the Aussie team able to take a game by the throat, that's why England are 1-0 in the series.

We need to attend the house of mirrors and take some long hard looks at ourselves.

Nope, i subscribe to picking the best players and Johnson is that. What has Clark done to suggest he is a better option than Johnson? Reputation?

No problems then, Flintoff can be in my team and Shane Watson can be in yours. :D

Just as an aside whilst the selection debate for the 3rd test is on, I hope Fox Sports aren't paying Blewy too much for his comments. ;)

Lol  Nice try. Watto is a better batsman but never even close to Flintoff as a bowler. Flintoff as an all round cricketer every day of the week. Batting though i'd take Watto
