Port's guernsey

Postby rod_rooster » Sun Jul 19, 2009 1:49 pm

No idea why they are wearing the guernsey they are today but i like it. Probably the best guernsey they have worn since their inception. Only thing they can do to improve that is get rid of the logo below the V.

I agree Rod, I saw it on the back of Friday's chip wrapper and made the same comment.
Fantastic design.

My thoughts were exactly the same.
A far better guernsey than the rest of theirs.

I agree with everyone else - that's a great guernsey

So often the traditional guernsey designs are the best - the stripes, the V's, the sash, etc
In between signatures .....

A few years back, when I lived in Melbourne, there were what could only be described as "cricket" jumpers in AFL team colours available from the Victoria Markets. Deplorable looking things, so I bought a mate of mine a Crows one for his birthday!

The Port one was exactly the same as their guernsey is today. Anyone ever seen one of them?

Agree with all above, its where I'd like North's vee to be too.
Just goes to show Primary School kids are better at designing football guernseys than marketing organisations, probably have more common senses too.
Simple is better with football guersneys!

Port's other good one was that pre season one they had at the time of their inception with the lightning bolt in the middle and the turquoise and black either side of it.

The front looks a bit too busy with the Power logo below the 'V'. Lose that and I think it's a great looking guernsey.

Will Port be wearing it permanently from now on or was it a one-off?
