I found it easy to pick the two best players on the ground - Daniel Schell and Justin Cicolella. Schell was far too good for McGregor and Miles. We had a "rabbit caught in the headlights" period in the third - obviously where the game was won and lost, although it was yet another good last quarter performance to reduce the lead from late in the third (42 points) to the final margin. Why put yourself in that position in the first place however?

Serious question for the Eagles boys ... you always get up for the Bays but obviously this year has been like a yo-yo with injuries and form.

Where to from here considering the double chance is probably shot now?
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Win two or three out of the last five to make the finals, I'd say. Then we have a week to refresh for them if that eventuates.

i believe KENNYMAC is past it in the SANFL. schell showed him up every time they went for it. smashed him. hier is the guy id have in replacement.perhaps put kenny in a forward possie.he is july 16 2009. prologing a carrer based on rep is not what the eags need now. bring hier in is the future. in saying that i have enjoyed kennys never give up attitude. one of the good guys . but sadly i think its past him now.

Need to get a few more wins to secure a finals spot (not as easy as it sounds) and hope that we find form and the right mix of players at the right time of the year. Have played and been beaten by the top 3 teams in the last month and have North next week so well and truly know where we're at at the moment.

Can take hope that if things all fall in place we could have the following list of players available for finals that didn't play today: Stewart, Broadbent, Salter, Powell, Passador, Treeby, Shirley, Hentschel, Fiacchi, Hier, Faircough and Jacky.

Not ideal to rely on AFL listed players coming back to strengthen the team, but that's our situation at the moment.

Ridiculous comment. Had a VERY poor game today but has had many terrific games in 2009.

Yeah, Danny Schell is hardly the worst forward in the comp and Kenny was just beaten on the day by a quality opponent. I seem to recall that the last time we played the eagles at Woodville, that he kicked some important goals in the last quarter which won the match for them. I would think he will be an important player for them come finals time and probably for a few years to come.

I didn't leave the ground feeling he was finished, anyway. As for Colin Rowston.............. :)

The team that was on the field did very well in the first half . Fell asleep in the third term. And almost won the day in the last .
But it highlights were the Eagles are at right now. Some of our second players looked like they were wearing their DADS shorts they were that young !!!

And pre game spoke with Andrew Rodgers he wanted the guys to have a crack today and they did in the fourth term.

Well done Centrals but u allowed the eagles to play well in the first and last terms.Schell and one of the gowans didnt kick straight and kill us off.

Cheers

PS
I have to call Adam Grocke the BODY as a special request from his cheer squad after he kicked a great goal today!!

Bucky Rogers wasnt the only person I saw you talking to...... see you've got a message to the top, speaking with the CEO with all the females around you!!!!

Thats two weeks in a row I have spoken with the CEO, have mercy on the man he also follows Carlton ;)
Those nice ladies are the official ADAM GROCKE FAN CLUB and I have to call him "THE BODY" after his goal on Saturday(as I kept getting him mixed with other players).I had to bring my own Cheep seats but there were doughnuts floating around by a certain CD as well, even appeared to have a water(or something liquid) bag with him for the long trek north.
Also spoke with a few other Eagles, Matt even spoke to Ron as he walked by ;) and no I didn't give him any coaching tips
Would have liked to congratulate Cica if he walked by but he didn't .

Cheers
Funny I don't feel to bad after a loss
And Mr Tom I would have come up and said hi but I got your last PM when I got home .

I actually thought walking back to my car why not play kenny up forward all game .But two problems arise tall backmen and midfielders.
1 we don't have enough of
2 they weren't getting their hands on the footy first.

For your comment he is past it is rather unfair with the amount of ball coming into the forward line in some games , the son of god would not have been able to cope!!

Eagles 6.9.45
Central 12.9.81

In it at half time then fell away a little. Fortress Woodville was a little muddy.

Disappointed with the 3rd qtr, had we stopped the dogs run, I believe that we would have won.

If Woodville was a "little muddy", the Ponderosa was the 18th green at Augusta! Never seen Woodville oval look as bad as it did yesterday. None of the league ovals were helped with the carnivals during the week, the weather was unkind for the week in that regard.

my lad had mini league duties for central today. was pretty frustrating only listening to north but the lads footy comes first.

yeah i remember kennys quarter against us at prospect but i just believe he is just too slow and cant jump. when i saw him line up on schell i just laughed and said to the boy schell will kick 15 today. and if it wasnt for his poor kicking for goal, he would have reached double figures easily. maybe im wrong about kenny but its what i think.

My thoughts exactly .I bet the ovals without cricket pitches looked better.
Why have a carnival stupid idea just play the 16's the same as the 18's .

Every one is entitled to their own opinion goraw. ;)
So who should have played on Schell and by that I mean from the players on the oval and not in the seconds. And I was not convinced by Hill on in him in the fourth quarter Hill is a pinch hitting ruckman come Forward with from what I saw very little defensive pressure when playing down back. And as Matt will attest from my position I could see that very well.
I know who could have played on him in the seconds by the way .

i would have put kenny in grokes position, and dropped groke for zac. i have a high opinion on zac and if his not happy he could always come to north ;)

Two weeks ago you would not have wanted Zac he played an awful game in the two's.He looked to use qa quote all at sea. And of course not long before that chambers kicked 11 on him .
BUT he is getting some form back IMHO,and should play this week .

Eagles paying the price of injuries(like most teams are) and the lack of QUALITY SANFL READY to go either recruits or 18 yos from round 1 09.IMHO

BUT really the fight back gives me some hope for further down the track in 09.
If u put kenny forward Eagles still need one more at least small/medium forward either DAWSON or a fit LANE.
