Cant completely agree with your asssessments on the bowling
I thought HILF/SIZZLE bowled ok but had no support
MJ was ordinary, Hauritz was Hauritz, North will surley average 50+ in his Test bowling career

Mal, I didn't single anyone out, I was just rating the Australian attack as a total package. I've followed Test cricket since the mid-60s and honestly cannot recall a worse performance than I saw last night. Even in the World Series Cricket days when we carried a third string attack, we still bowled better that we did last night.
What in hell has happened to Stuart Clark's bowling if he not bowling well enough to force his way into THIS attack?

Having said that, the days of genuine keepers being selected first are long gone and he's a very good batsman, so they're willing to accept playing him as a stopper.

His footwork is shoddy - he dives way too often.

After watching ours last night, I don't know if I can be too critical of other attacks. That was some of the worst Test bowling I have ever seen. There's an old saying in cricket, "You can't set a field to bad bowling", and the look in Ponting's eyes at times last night said it all.
And, I've never been a wicketkepper, but surely it can't be as difficult as Haddin makes it look. He's going to have to continue making 100s to make up for his keeping.

Perhaps the best thing that could happen would be injuries
If a batsman gets injured we could play WATTO/MACCA and have the 5th bowler
If Haurie is out next test we can play CLARK

I'd assume he'll find it hard to turn the ball now.
