Not saying they were instigators, but got involved somehow.

The official line is that he jarred his knee but there also might be some medial damage but the medical staff at first thought that it is was not too bad.

O'Conner is apparently attending Barossa games.

1. Does he want to go back?
2. Does Sponge want him back?
3. Do Barossa want him back?

1. Not sure
2. Why would a coach want to be given the boot.
3. I think it would be the best things for Barossa to take him back. The club in the shit and Sponge is the problem.

There is no doubt that Barossa Districts want Oconnor back at the helm next season. Money talks and bullshit walks and it seems Nelson will be walking.

Nelson may stay on as his assistant.

Lets just say club legends like Jack Thompson & Tank Murray want him stood down at the years end and Oconnor reinstated at any cost.

If Gawler Centrals had just won back to back flags and then dropped off the radar due to the premiership coach leaving and a incompetent replacement, id be wanting that premiership coach back to Tigerland ASAP.

Could get messy at BD just like the South Gawler coaching debate will end in tears at seasons end.

not sure what the dogs would have to gain taking back the journeyman occonnor... there's no doubt nelson is struggling as an outright coach, but surely occonnor isn't the answer for the dogs at the first sign of trouble he starts packing his bags.

there is no secret that sponge did alot of the work in barossa's premierships as assistant coach he would be very stiff to be thrown into the BLG coaching scrapheap.

Is that what it is? Nothing to do with the reduced number of import spots and less money to throw around causing the exodus of players.

the word is nelson has the respect of the playing group but taylor and commane would leave if oconner was to return. has anyone got an insight into the stelzers relationship with oconner? they were enormous for barossa in the premiership years.

Hey thats great , Nelson has the respect of his playing group. The stats show the club has gone backwards since his tenor in the hot seat.

I am not a big Oconnor fan , ill make that be known. But again his stats speak for themselves , 2 premierships in three years. Why wouldnt the BD club be interested in talking to him about 2010.

Who knows , Nelson could find himself coaching at South Gawler next year or his former beloved Donnybrooks if he isnt given a gig next year. Was a very respected player at the Donnies and had a stellar career leading the ruck charges in the A grade for a few seasons. I remember watching him climb over the top of Burf one day at the dog track. Quality tap ruck man with fantastic goal sense for a big guy.

Maybe he realises he's not the best fit? Maybe he enjoyed being the assistant?

what a joke pac-man. About the only thing nelson is remembered for a willaston is his boot laces hanging out of occonnors arse. He couldn't play to save himself and then he followed daddy to barossa, theyre just a couple weirdos.

It was put down on this site that Commane would walk if Nelson was the coach in 2010. It has been said that Commane said this in a public place. I have been told that the Stelzers had a lot of respect for O'Conner. They may come back if O'Conner was the coach. I understand so would a number of other players.

Have seen an email doing the rounds regarding finals venues.

1st Semi - Tanunda
2nd Semi - Barossa
Prelim - Kapunda
GF - Freeling

Obviously this does changes as the season goes along and with the condition of the grounds around the league.

Thats intriguing feedback P Hitter.

I was under the impression Nelson was lured to Willaston to bolster the A grade ruck stocks and gave your club some valuable service on and off the field. When Oconnor left he took a couple of other players with him not just Nelson i am led to believe.

The guy played A grade football at your club , just how good was he at feeding your smaller brigade first use of the pill ? Did he provide you a target up forward when resting like many good big men do ? Does any game in particular stick in your mind where he didnt contribute ?

Saying the man couldnt play to save himself couldnt be right .....

I beleive nelson went to willaston after only managing to fill a goal umpiring position at barossa for most of his career.

Lets just say he didn't win the respect of his on-ball team and spent any time he wasn't being punished in the middle on the bench - not up forward. It was very uninspiring to watch him play with a body like a portaloo and a heart the size of pea.

Guess the writing was on the wall for willaston when he was playing A Grade and IMO the club wouldve been better served playing some kids like matt green or liam pratt that year. Only oconnor would know why the hell they persisted with a guy that is better suited in a white jacket than on the football field.

Antidog, do you think the great man D Thomas could return to taking pot shots from the boundary at Williamstown?

It would be hard to say who would, if any would come back. I am only saying what I have been told. D.Thomas was a good forward. He did what he was paid for. When I did see him he came across as a big head.

I cant believe the finals venues. How many major finals can Kapunda and Freeling have? A major final can make anywhere from $5,000 to $15,000 and to have one each year is favourtism by the directors to prop the light clubs up. What about the Gawler clubs? How can we ever improve facilities if we dont get the big finals? Barossa and Light is alive and well!!!
