Rnd 16 - Panthers v Sturt @ Noarlunga

Postby Big Phil » Mon Jul 13, 2009 10:55 am

For most, this will be a question of the Double Blues by how much and all eyes will be on how many Chambers will bag and if he outscores the entire South side.

Stranger things have happened and by no means am I tipping an upset but this might be closer than many may think. I guess the weather conditions down that way may come into effect and perhaps the only thing that will prevent Sturt from winning is a mini cyclone ripping through Hickinbotham Oval like it did at Port Noarlunga on the weekend and having the game abandoned !!

Sturt by 8 goals for me, Chambers to kick 7 again !!

In round 8 Sturt rolled South by 77pts, I don't have the margins from the 2008 season, yet I think on both occasions it was by more than that. Based on previous results and the current form of the club, a 100pt belting probably wouldn't be unreasonable if you were having a bet at the TAB. It all depends on whether or not the coach of the club decides to take the foot off in the second half or to go for the jugular. :?

Am looking forward to this game to see how the players will respond.

I think Sturt will win but expect it to be a lot closer than people think. A real test for the SAFC, not just the players, but the club as a whole.

Never having been to the polar regions, do you have to pay extra to get your car (snow mobile) in?

I guess when Westies play there they just bring their wolfpack and sleighs.

Sturt beat South by 85 pts last time @ Hickinbotham under J Cahill, with your thinking Soj - that already make Sampson a better coach than Cahill, 84 pts or less on Saturday proves it, doesn't it??

Has Sampson had his dick wet against Port yet as opposed to Jack Cahill, or is he still a virgin after 2 SANFL seasons? :((

LifeFM is at Glenelg v Port at the Bay
RPH is at North v West at Prospect

There are two games not on radio
.. BigPhil will give us live updates on LifeFM from Elizabeth for the TV game Central v Eagles
.. I hope to confirm someone at Noarlunga for South v Sturt in the next day or so.

BTW if its cold wet & windy I'll take Hickinbotham over House Brothers any day.

At Noarlunga you can drive straight in and stay warm in your car if you wish, or if you are a member you can watch from the fully heated function room overlooking the ground. No rain or wind to deal with. You can standup and be dry under the statco shelter of sit in the grandstand.

Go to Unley and you have to park a post code away, probably get drenched getting in and even if you are in the grandstand you will be cold.

Or you can park at the Cremorne, have a beer and then get the bus to ferry you to the ground. Was missing on Saturday however.
