Let's hope the selectors of the Riverland Weekly Rising Star of the Week Award soon realise that not all the young stars play within 15kilometres of League headquarters.

Well done to Renmark yesterday.
Worked harder over the four quarters.
Although, first time I've heard a team that won by over 10 goals having a crack at the umpires after the match!

And Stun, who do you think should be getting a gig in the RW Rising Star award? I think each club has been represented this year, except for Loxton North.

From my records Renmark haven't recorded a nominee to date.

That's because they have a team of 20 champions above the age of 20 and still under achieve.

Not sure - I wasn't at the Loxton Nth v Renmark game.

My point was 7 out of 9 nominees coming from Berri and Barmera - what about the other clubs..

Look through those sides and you'll see that their best players are often led by under 21s.

The nomination process is: The highest placed under 21 in the best players list, who has not already been nominated this season, is named the rising star for that week. If the highest placed player, for example Chris Bonney this week, has already been nominated, then it is the next best placed player across all six teams.

Hopefully that helps you Stun.

That's great - thanks for the criteria.
Young guy from Waikerie should be a chance this week then - best player for the past 2 weeks.

how do you seperate it if 2 players under 21 get best player for their respective clubs eg pogoreki for waikerie & bonney for barmera ( if he hadn't been previously nominated)

We haven't come across that scenario yet - hopefully we don't ;)

Bonney has already been nominated.

I reckon if two players on same week are best, that carries over into next week if there isn't a higher placed under 21 player. IIRC

Huge win by Wunkar on the weekend.
Should be a close fight for second spot now.

Who said we can't wait for the season to end DK?
I know we're losing but there's still a reasonably good atmosphere around the club.
You're very right about Timmy, we are certainly missing him.

Interesting scenario regarding the B grade following Loxton losing its points. Certainly enlivened the competition.
Talking to a couple of Tigers recently and they're confident they'll get back - very confident.

Here's the run in for each club:

Loxton North 3rd = five wins. BM/B/L/W/R/L
Waikerie 4th = four wins. B/L/R/LN/BM/R
Loxton 5th = two wins. R/W/LN/BM/B/LN

The games between Loxton North and Loxton against Waikerie will be crucial. If Waikerie can pinch a win against Loxton next weekend, it will get very interesting.
