Very disappointing from the Aussies. Woeful bowling by both sides through the whole match.

Good effort by the Aussies to get this close, hopefully we take this form into the rest of the series.

Agreed. We did EXTREMELY well to get this close on such a lifeless pitch, and we'll bring the Ashes home comfortably.

We bowled a mile better than the Poms this game, unfortunately our last session was very poor. Overall we will take much more out of this than they will.

Well if we could say the Aussies gave themselves every chance it wouldn't be too bad but Johnson bowling too long, Hilfenhaus getting a wicket then not bowling again, North bowling two overs at the end were all terrible terrible choices.

Nah that dont sit well. Those 2-3 overs from Johnson and that extra over from Katich could've come in handy.

Credit to the Poms to save that one ... hollow for the Aussies though as they shouldn't have let this one get away.

Can this series match 2005?

True but Ponting was trying to get more deliveries/opportunities in with North. I can undesrtand the rationale but North wasn't going to take a wicket.
