Are Centrals laying doggo so their odds drift and they can get better odds for their flag win??? Despite the loss I still rate the dogs as faves for the flag as we know they peak for late August, September/October so something must be amiss today. Having said all that well done Westies as you can't argue with beating the flag faves and reigning premiers. You have defiantely done well today and helped your neighbouring Bays out in a big way....
We're still a silly chance for the minor premiership

No way, Bays would have to be flag favourites. The Dogs have (obviously) been the side of the last decade. This season has seen the beginning of the end of that reign. Still a great team, but the psychological dominance is evaporating.
Agree, bays should be favourites now, should be a good game in 2 weeks when bays play centrals.
Several posters on here thought it was quite a funny joke when I said I felt that Westies were a chance to challenge North for a spot in the five, irrespective of how or why Westies won today, I do feel that they have laid down the gauntlet to the other SANFL sides that they are prepared to have a fair dinkum crack at it this season.
Still a lot of water to pass under the bridge just yet, however I do agree that Andy Collins Second Year of his Three year plan does appear to be on track as significant improvement has been seen in the side this season. Good luck to them anyway, it gives me hope that South can do the same thing and turn things around in the mould of the WAFC.

Glad I'm not in an SANFL tipping comp this year...

Congratulations to West Adelaide... you have to admire the way they've fought out many contests this season. Sure they were pretty poor against my mob last week at Waikerie, but what a response from the Richmond folk today. Well done boys...
Interesting that Central had more kicks, hit outs, tackles, clearances, and inside 50s ... but still lost the game. A similar tale in the Sturt v Eagles game aparently. Just proves once again what a waste of time recording these stats are. All that matters is how well you use the ball, and how many goals and behinds you score in comparision with the opposition.

I think one of these are in order ...
Firstly, the Bays are not favourites ... how can they be favourites when they've lost their last 4 against the Doggies, including the GF and the last meeting by 14 goals.
As for the Doggies, they've had an up and down season and have only lost 3 games, a record every other team in the comp would envy.
They're still a very good chance for the minor premiership ... no, no panic or end of an era just yet.
