i would go as far as to say hamley would be competitive in the blg b grade, but the point was that reasonable players in the blg wouldn't be improving their footy by playing with hamley bridge at the moment.

Would have thought it was up to the particular player? I know players who have develpoed their game in poor sides, as they've had to work harder and get better to be able to get a kick.

But, then there are bloke's who will rise/lower to whatever level they are in at the time. your point suggests that these guys are reasonable players in the BLG, Reasonable players in the BLG should be reasonable players in the APFL, it's still the same football.

I think if you wanted to improve your own development, it would greatly depend on YOU! Not the team/club although there is benefits to playing with other good players.
Sorry people I only deal in facts!

lets get back to the big results from the weekend:
Two Wells proved they are the real deal with a very impressive 4 quarter effort against the reigning premiers. winning by a big margin
Virginia got over ladder leaders in a good tight contest from what i hear.
Balaklava as expected thumped cellar dwellers Hamley.
Very interested in hearing a review of the game between Virginia and Mallala.anyone?

By the sounds of it SD some of their young guns and mid-row players need to grow some heart. Maybe just "hanging around" is their problem.

It cant be left up to the Smiths, Natts, Woulds and Schahingers to punish themselves every week with no support!

I have seen them play one game this year (TW Vs HB @ HB) and it is very VERY obvious that some lads are happy to sit back and watch/hide.

Hopefully these lads step up for Hamley and the competitions sake! Maybe injuries to key players will force this?

You won't build a premiership side out of those players!

Of course. They need support! Kind of what I said wasn't it?

Also...They are all playing out of position due to a lack of personnel. Except Schahinger I guess.

How did Virginia look on the weekend?

Virginia did well. I wouldnt say it was a spectacle both sides had a few out. Virginia were missing Musolino, Papanotis and Nykamp with the magpies missing Whitty to the zone carnival, Joel Mont with injury and also it was a bit cold and wintry for yours truly on the day, prob a blessing anyway.
Full credit to Virginia they kicked the first 2 goals and that was prob the difference all game. A real arm wrestle all day but Virginia looked a bit more dangerous up forward. Makes for an intriguing season.

They had Schutt, Geradis (who appeared to be well covered) - who was looking most dangerous? Did Galic play forward? Would think your guys would cover Schutt and Geradis without too much trouble, Galic a bit harder to handle being a larger unit, also Bascombe (captain nero of the ford) could be hard to match up on.

They're going better than previous, but are'nt a premiership team. I can see them in the Grand final but not winning it as they dont have the GF smarts.

Tips for the week:
United
Mallala
Virginia
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

I think Ben C is trying to say that if TW made the GF.....they would probably come up against the Pies or Watchmen...and would lack GF experience and thus lose.

Such an interesting season. A pity we cant be in amongst it too :(
