I couldn't see a lot wrong with it to be honest. Just three guys giving their opinions, nothing wrong with that. Apart from Matthews, MacGill and Martyn are very new to the caper, they're not polished professionals like Benaud.

Never been sure about Rodney Hogg, I've heard him talking cricket on SEN (when I used to listen to it) and all I can say is it's a pity in all those Tests he played, he never learned much about cricket.

I'm just glad SEN are covering it. As someone else said, if other commercial networks were covering it, you'd have more to complain about than the special comments. If 9 had it, we would have missed the entire 1st day's play for Michael Jackson specials.

Is there one Aussie in the commentary box at Cardiff?

Here we at least have balance with that Muppett Greig and Mark Nicholas doing some work.

I didn't find them too bad, sure there are better around but they were at least talking about the cricket not selling us carp.

Agreed. They were just three blokes offering an opinion. They weren't commentating the game or anything, so I don't know what people except from them. None of them have been my favourte people in cricket, but they're not doing a bad job.

They're terrible.... may as well have cardboard cutouts with prerecorded readings...

Why are they terrible? What is it you consider they should be doing as an alternative?

Don't mind the Pommie commentators too much as I loathe Nicholas and Greig. As for Junior and Flemmo's byplay in the studios...well, I'm over that already.

Agreed. I've enjoyed every moment of it so far, so I'm puzzled by why people are so offended by them. :?

I love watching Magilla Gorilla trying to smile, instead of that scowl / grimace he seemed to wear so naturally on the field. X(

They're already less wooden by day 5 than day 1, let's hope they can bring that sportsmans "constant improvement" idea to their presenting. Could be pretty good by the end.

I would hadly call what they have done as offensive, that is a massive over reaction. I find it interesting hearing them talk about their experiences as players against many of the ones still playing. MacGill i have found quite good as he has made light of his own performances.
