I think McIntosh and Bassett would be a good combination, the old fashioned hard at it coach with the new, fresh ideas younger assistant.

Should Norwood consider trying to get say a Scott Watters over here from WA ? Wouldn't be able to bring any players with him from the WAFl until 2011 but he has a great record.

I think the club will be trying to place a greater emphasis on homegrown development in the next few years, particularly with some of the kids they have there at the moment, and I guess that would give Bassett a pretty decent head start.

Macca is the man for the job. I have no doubt that given the resources the club now has available, he will be a success.

Would he want the job though? His experience last time around would be a bitter pill to swallow although I doubt the man could ever say no if the club said they needed him for the job.

Having said that, Bas would be awesome and if he is thinking of coaching AFL one day, stepping up to the plate with the Legs might be the best way of getting himself there... The guy is certainly passionate about his footy so hopefully he has enough of a break from the game and is willing to throw his hat in the ring.

Their is no greater legend of the Norwood Football Club and the man is my (and many people's) idol .. But Macca is NOT the man for the job, unfortunately.

I have my own thoughts as to the type of person required, and there could be a few to fit that mould so I cant say for sure ... Macca could offer PLENTY to any club, but I don't think the coaching role at Norwood again is the right one, just my opinion.

Macca, Macca and Macca again with N Bassett as his Assistant. When Macca coached Norwood previously in 2002 his first year he got us third. Then we lost lots of money with Wood Street being sold as well. He couldnt go out out and get players.

Now that the club is financialy sound Macca would be great.

I tend to agree 'sib'.
However, we owe it to ourselves to explore all other avenues before committing.
I just hope that the appropriate Norwood officials are doing their utmost at this very moment
in casting the Redleg net far and wide in order to snare the best catch available.
