I think the saying is "revenge is a dish best served cold" - AM obviously has a long history with Greenies (played for them in late 80's) but whatever happened goes on every week - it's called passion!

With AM it's called being an arrogant wank*r!
Always has been, always will be!

What you label as arrogance I call successful, I would say there would not be too many more successful coaches floating around the amateur league at present and if the confidence AM shows comes across as arrogance then im pretty sure he would be happy to be called that. He could not and would not show this if he was not as successful as he has been in his years not only at GGFC but also at Modbury.

As for our facilities we are a very young club, i would say there would only be 2 or 3 younger that started from a group of people who decided taht the area needed its own football club, we did not start from an Old Scholars group so everything we have done has been from the hard work of many. Of course we would like our facilities to be better but if you were the game on the weekend you would see these things are happening, be it slowly but happening all the same. All of our 100+ players and support staff look forward to this day.

turk186 wrote:Flipper...AL facilities are worse but not by a long way, but as Choccies said its not from lack of effort by the GG footy club, councils and goverment are the real culprits here.

The coach stuff is all true...AM seems to have a real hate for our club and appears to go out of his way to spoil what is a good healthy rivalry between the clubs......passion is one thing, stupidity is just that.

Choccies...we dont judge your club by his antics, we have a very healthy respect for your guys as a playing group... personally I believe that the action of a clubs senior coach has a direct influence on the way a club is percieved.... therefore....

Hopefully by the start of season 2010 the facilities discussion will be no more and we can finally put the issue to rest. It's been a very draining issue for many administrators and long time players of the club for years so it'll be nice to put it to bed and have a beer at the beer one day...

I think with AM the passion spills over sometimes.... as it does with many of us on the weekends... That doesn't justify some things but I'm not perfect so I'm not going to judge. Plus I didn't see what happened so won't comment on speculation...

Just gathered that from my experiences of playing against him (GG/Modbury) and from what has been said of him on here by other forumites.
It consistently gets stated on here about his lack of class and how he is not gracious in victory, and I have seen this first hand.

We will see what happens at the end of the year but I'm led to believe he has a 2 year contract ?? But I'd stand corrected there....

I'm involved at Salisbury West and when we played Golden Grove i had a good chat after the game with Ashley and i found him to be very passionate about his footy club.I respected that and would assume that most people would be the same. The best thing was after a good game of footy a lot of their players came back in for a beer and i really believe that has something to do with the coach. There is a difference between not accepting second best and arrogance(This a personnal opinion and i think he has been and will continue to be fantastic for his club)

Mitchell is a disgrace and defending his actions just because he is the coach of your footy club threatens to lower the club to the same level, you are a young club looking for role models and leadership with examples and a senior coach that takes part in the repeated actions seen and stated here is totally unacceptable.

I was a stander by and seen a AM, a senior coach provoke his players to confront opposition players and spectators at half time and after the game. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE

The club must put some reigns on him or send him on his way. Thats my opinion and it wont change so dont try and cover over it saying it is passion because i wont accept it, there is no place for this type of passion, this passion starts riots and oversease in other sporting circles.

Can anyone tell me if he has fronted the committee for anything like this? If not the SAAFL need to watch the club very close. my opinion...

so your players verbally abusing spectators (one of which was reported and i believe is fronting the tribunal) and provoking our players by kneeing them as the two teams were going up the race at half time IS acceptable?
