Go you Thunderers - Can imagine that it was a big night at the Thunder dome saturday night - Good onya Strop Campell, can be frustrating coaching young sides but dam rewarding when they click - deserve a win like that after from all reports some good performances without taking the points. No better points to take than off Mt Lofty Candy stripes - Well done to all the lads. Hope to see more good results for the rest of the year - Keep up the good work and take some more scalps before the year ends. Tight Lines =D> \:D/ :ymparty:

lets hope the roosters can continue the mt.lofty losing streak in a couple of weeks... solid beating of bridgewater on saturday, the game never looked in doubt, though to be honest i think birdwood shouldve/couldve won by a few more goals, rested some of their big name players in the last quarter. top 5 finish is still a possibility for us! and the B grade got the job done too... nice revenge from round 1.

Hahndorf 17.16 (118) d Lobethal 4.4 (28).

mt barker kept to just 1 goal, sad day for that club no doubt

Worst mt Barker team i have seen in a long, long time

Not the best of days no doubt, but with a few back after the break I'm sure there will be an improvement. Congrats to Strop and the Lads, we know the same feeling at the moment playing with a very young side and any big win like that will always bring everyone together. Just a stage of rebuilding at the moment and will be back in the mix in a few years.

Any truth in the rumour that a junior coach at sturt (believe involved in 16's) has been banned from hills football till the end of 2010 for abusive and offensive behaviour - believe him to be from out meadows way. A lot of people apparantley have not been happy with him for some time. went bananas saturday week back. Believe Owen and co acted very quickly and quietly. Wonder if sturt took any action ? Do we need people like that involved in our sport ? Always thought him to be very good. Maybe just had an implosion.

Just out of interest, who is the highest paid player you have heard of or the most amount of money you have heard being thrown at a player in your league, is it safe to say almost every club in hills central has a 500 or 600 dollar man.

I think you will find a certain player gets $1200 a game at a bottom 4 club. Not worth it now they realize. Heard Bradley gets 2/3 of that maybe. Can't confirm though he is worth every cent. Hahndorf must be paying a bit. Believe they had $60k plus to splash around from fund raisers and "donations". There's some good money around. Believe birdwood have spent a bit as well.

Well mate, the day that happens we may as well declare all footy clubs bankrupt, as there wouldn't be a single unpaid player in the league.

Tho I did hear the Marion coach attracting several "never were" players with coin, must have been tempted

I assume that includes the cost of buying him out of his South Adelaide contract?
