Thoroughly enjoyed the game today. Nothing better than beating pam after being 30 points down and being labelled 'soft' by their lot.
I hope J 'Sniper' Clayton feels proud of himself today after breaking Jarrad's nose with a punch that would not have been out of place in Barry Hall's repetoire.
Thought Petrenko showed alot of maturity and toughness today as did Rimmington (best game for the club), Hill and Corbett. Almond back to early season form and Redden showed promise and must be played in the league team.
Crucial win today as 2 tough ones lie ahead.
Will Chinever do a 'Chocko' and call the season over as far as finals are concerned??

A great day at Woody Oval - a crowd of over 3000 with a packed Past Players Area - great to see past Torrens, Woodville and WWT players all together, including Andy Payze, The Weed, Nemo, Gavin Colville, Rhett Biglands, Stephen Hall, Dutchy Holland along with many more at the game and in the clubrooms tonight.

Also congratulations to the Club for the Ladies Marque - many of the ladies enjoying their free Champagne and our hospitality.

A terrific game of footy - interesting the players MVP was exactly the same as the match committee's first 3 with Burton, Broadbent and Passador.

I thought it was a good effort once we got going - I guess 9 changes made a slow start more likely than not (my thoughts only)

If not yet a member it's time to get on board - get those memberships now - pleased to report we are over the 2000 members again. We need your support at Unley as we can be top 3 next week.

Remember the Breakfast this Wednesday at 7am with guest Derrick McManus - will be an inspirational couple of hours - book at Club only $25

Firstly, I guarantee any neutral fan either in attendance or had they been there would agree that it was the best game of the season so far. Why can't there be attacking footy and defensive pressure in the same match? It's usually the latter only that prevails, but not today.

Can we have Burton in the side for the rest of the season? Please? :D He didn't do much early, but as the game progressed, he was everywhere and taking one grab marks like you would expect from him. Except you wouldn't expect that after such a long layoff. Passador was able to overcome the verbal and physical tactics that Lokan used and kick five goals in his first League game for the season. Goldsworthy chipped in with some classic opportunist forward goals in his first League game for the season. And finally, Robbie Fiacchi, reward at last for persistance having only played 2 League matches in the past 3 1/2 seasons did well, too. Provided some dash off half back, as did Petrenko.

We didn't look interested in the first 20 minutes, it was Salter 1.1 Port 5.6 at this stage. Port ran in numbers and had targets up forward. Seriously, has Corey AhChee ever had an off day? Then McKenzie started to have a major influence, as did Cheep, Cicolella, Allmond and Broadbent.

Apart from the reliable AhChee, Mardling was lively, too. The thing that Port didn't do during the day was seal the match in the first.

Good call wedgetail. Round 13/14 is when CHOKE-O CHOKER decides to call the season over, and attract sub 20,000 crowds.

Sniper clayton would get four weeks if the video could be employed. Still his spleen and small brain must be struggling to get over his hospitalisation from the fair bump from passa

Can anyone who saw the U18's tell me what happened to Matt Crettenden for PAMFC?

I didnt get there till the last quarter and he was nowhere to be seen, even with the group after the game.

Great contest by both sides today...happy the better team won though of course

Dont know how many sitches Luke Jarrad had, but seeing him at presentations still bleeding from under the bandage on his nose while trying to eat his parmy...id suggest he needs a few more!

Great to see Brett Burton back at Oval Ave, hard to believe the guy hasnt played for almost a year, was amazed at how well he played, he seemed to have no concerns about the knee at all, glad that Neil Craig didn't like his suggestion of putting him straight back in to the Crows side.

Thought Cicca was excellent today, best game for ages, put his body on the line a few times today when it had to be done.
Think the Combo of Burton, Salter and Passador worked well today and stretched the Port defence as the game wore on in much the same way that the Eagles defence was under pressure in the first half.

As CD said was great to see so many past players (some in their gurnseys) in the tent near the scoreboard and then back in the club after the game.

Disappointing day for the Reserves and Under 18's but both coaches still found a few positives, interesting to hear Joffa say there has been 25 changes to the reserves side in the last 3 weeks!
Trust the process.

Well done Eags, now for $kurt next week @ the playground.

Matthew Goldsworthy is a shoe in to get drafted. 17 year old year kid can play.

Birdman sensational game back after a year off. Contested possession after contested possession.

NO YOU CAN NOT !
I'm surprised and disappointed in you 'spelly'. You're just putting your own club's interests first.
Burton should be rushed straight back into the Crows forward line, so that Norwood can have
'Tex' Walker back for the rest of this year and next.

It is possible that he did get injured, but not sure what happened as there wasn't any strechers.

Matt Crettenden was rested for the game. We had some college kids who were available (one being his brother) who we wanted to play so he had the weekend off. You obviously know Crette so you would know his body could have done with the week off as he crashes in and backs into packs every week.

I walked away from the league game disappointed with the loss, but i thought the game was a fantastic contest.

Port should have put the game almost beyond doubt in the first quarter, but bad kicking is bad football.

I am surpised that Perkins was left on Burton for so long, surely Thurgood would have been a good match up for him?

Can one of you Eagles boys tell me who #24 was. He must have had leather poisoning at the end of the game?

That he does.

Thanks for the info SIT.

Hopefully he gets a shot higher up at some stage, but I guess there's a fair bit of competition, and it's hard to impress as a backman when the ball rarely gets far in that direction... (Not meant to sound condescending to the opposition...)
