For that matter, this site isn't perfect. Apparently (see index page) Port are playing twice next weekend

Last weeks rivalry story had the wrong pictures to go with the story.

The story was written about Sturt, Port,Glenelg & Norwood and their rivalry during the 60-70-80's

But they put in a picture of a South & Eagles player and the South player in the photo didn't match the caption.

Surely they could have dug up a couple of photos from that era to go with the story!!!
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you, Port Adelaide Sturt. & Norwood You don't beat Glenelg in Grand Finals and get away with it.

I have a budget from last season laying around somewhere, where one of the mini league team's sir names are all Smith.

Great point raised RD
Ive stopped buying them because they are just too crap now.

The Graphic Designers and Production manager have to pull their fingers out & start taking some ownership of that publication.

Maybe employ an actual SANFL footy fan/officianado to oversee it before it goes to print.

I like the idea of A5 size. I loved it in the old days when they were that size.
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!

As a former contributor to the Budget, it's disappointing to see some of this feedback.
Hopefully things can be tidied up.

I haven't bought one all season. I just borrow Grant's when I want to read the teams

Not enough substance in them any more....

Speaking of mistakes made in the media (I feel like Big Phil!) I noticed in todays paper on page 43 in the SANFL Player of the Year voting that Leigh Ryswyk from the North Magpies got a vote!

That was the Big Phil of old Wedgie ;)

I know that not that long ago Boylen Media, who publish and produce the Budget, were advertising for an editor's position (junior I think) so perhaps they are just struggling to find the right person for the job.

Thanks to everyone for their comments (some very good suggestions supplied) on this thread - I'm relieved that I wasn't the only person getting annoyed by the declining standard of the Budget. Thanks also to The Advertiser for giving this issue publicity in today's paper - hopefully we can expect to see much improved Budgets for the rest of this season (well at least none featuring posters of players involved in the bye...)

More from this week:
Page 15 - "...the Eagles have only ever recorded two draws since its inception - both were against Glenelg at Woodville Oval. An omen for Sunday's result?"

Hmm, well, short term memory loss perhaps?

Good to see that the Advertiser actually acknowledged the site but it might be a bit rich given their coverage of the SANFL isn't entirely 100% accurate at times. ;)

don't know if this has already been mentioned but noticed on the official SANFL website, http://www.sanfl.com.au that they were running a poll asking the question

"Would you like to see the Football Budget in a smaller A5 format next season? yes or no."

Here is your chance to have a say, so make sure to vote.

Currently
46% (11 votes) have said YES
54% (13 votes) have said NO

Making it A5 would give an excuse for even less content - the go at the moment is bigger text, more pictures. The Advertiser does the same.

Looks like the Football Budget Editor reads this website - this week's Budget edition not only features a player who's team is not on the bye this round as the colour poster - but also the Recent Results pages have been updated to include previous 2009 clashes between the opposing clubs. Good work Editor - you've done well.

A bit of it was my fault RD. When I have updated the weekly stats report this year with 2009 games I put it in a new expanded section including 1/4 by 1/4 scores goal kickers and best players. The updating can be a bit of an issue sometimes g(ie the Glenelg v Eagles 2 draws was accurate until Eagles & West tied 2 years ago.) However what I have done now is e-mailed the report to work overnight Mondays. I then get to work early Tuesdays and give it one more read over (after some sleep). this will hoepfully reduce any errors from my end.

But my point wasn't your writing though? I thought it was someone who wrote up a piece in there but forgot to recall a result from this year - and/or just looked at your records only which you said wasn't updated for this years rounds.

Our Footy Budget, rates a poor second, third and fouth to the WA Budget, about time the SANFL lifted its game if it wants to compete on the big stage, I have not seen a WAFL game live , but wouldnt surprise me if the two top teams from each comp played at some time, we may come off second best.
I wish my remembering was as good as my forgetting
