Paul Stewart has been taken by the Power this week, but would assume Broadbent will be back to play for the Eagles.

John Reid said on 5AA that it's up to Brett Burton and Ron Fuller to decide whether the Birdman plays league or reserves for the Eagles this weekend.

How does Hill get picked ahead of Grocke? Besides that, much better ins this week. Good to have Dabrowski back.

I am not defending the coaching panel here .But Hill can be used in the ruck as well as up forward .And I am not saying Hill is a better forward than Grocke.
But is Hill taking over from Grocke or is Goldsworthy .For me Grocke has been playing on the flank perhaps height is not required on the flank .

Doesn't really matter if passador is playing Salter will go to CHF .Or if burton is playing he will have to play either on a wing or up near the goal face or at CHF.

Hell after last weeks game don't be surprised if symmons or westbrook get dropped !!! And yes they are named on the field doenst count for much as other weeks have shown.

It's been a frustrating thing to watch though, for some reason a certain team clicks one week, then injuries or AFL recalls happen. I keep saying it, but I'd love to see Robbie Fiacchi in there for persisting in the Reserves. Just two League matches he has played in after 2005, after 18 in that season. 1st League game in for the season for Passador, maybe. I still doubt Burton will be in the League side, Reserves this week, League next week is my guess.

Dunno about Grocke, Aerie, maybe some team curfew rule perhaps. :?

Surely they wouldn't take the punt in the League?
I'd say in the 2s definately unless they are struggling.

Some useful inclusions this week, I would think Burton would come back through the twos but if there was ever going to be an exception to the rule he would be it.
Im a big fan of Grocke think his contribution often goes unnoticed, but at the same time there were a couple of things that Stuart Hill did last week that are probably things that Adam was doing in 2006 but isnt doing at the moment..crashing packs and making his presence felt. The bonus of the good form of the twos has been increased pressure for positions in the league, and somone has to make way for the guys comming back, those who miss out need to go back and give 100% and then some to put the pressure on the bloke who got their spot.
Trust the process.

I'd be guessing that Burton will be playing league given that players coming back from injury in the past always seem to play in the team that they are named for. Having said that it would be a surprise if he played league after a year off, and also that we always seem to ease players back thru the reserves if they have been out for 4+ weeks. Over the past few years I think the only other time I can remember that a player has come straight back into the league side after a long injury is McKenzie in 2007 maybe??

My mail from the crows says that they think that Burton will play league football this week!!!

A clever marketing ploy?

We've got some flood busters in there - Burton for the marking, Salter for the booming kicks.
By the way, if Burton does play League, it's his first SANFL League match since Round 9 2003, and he has only played 6 League matches since 1999 - after 19 in his debut season in 1998.

Now who would want to be a Magpies back man with Burton and Passador in this forward line. Would mean the likes of Westbrook, Goldsworthy and perhaps Hill would not get the best back men easing the pressure on them .
