Last I heard he was in surgery on Saturday night, probably trying to figure out a way of completing his daily ablutions without his mum's help. Poor bugger...

From the 6th June until the 30th September, any $30 or above 2 year Next G mobile phone contract or BigPond Broadband (ADSL or Wireless) connection sold at participating dealers will qualify for a $25 contribution from Telstra to the country football club of your choice. There's over $200,000 available, so if you or anyone at your club needs to upgrade their phone, or need to get broadband internet tell them about this promotion and $25 will go to your club. For all the details (and participating dealers) go to http://truesupporters.com.au/
You heard it first... ;)

Great pickup Jack. Mrs Creature is in need of a new phone so I will talk her into purchasing a Telstra Next G phone. Even better I notice one of the participating dealerships is Retravision in Balaklava, might send her for a drive to go in there to ensure our club gets $25 for it. I'm assuming the staff in there will all know about this and will be happy to help her make a decision on her purchase Jack?

I'm pretty sure the staff in there are all over this promotion and would be more than willing to help Mrs Creature and any other potential customer with their purchasing decision. For the footy clubs' sake of course! :)

Righto boys,

Its mid-season and I think we could all do with a bit of freshen up given the rigours of an APFL footy season. We've started an Fantasy Ashes Competition on FOX Sports. So log on and register, it'll definately add some added interest and niggle to our footy forum. Takes 5 or so minutes to join up and pick a team!! MC, Jack, Ace, Droppie are household names in this form of the game, so get involved!!

League's Name: Ricky's Revenge
Code to join this league: 15723-2097

Geez I should be selling phones!

Count me in again. I must be starting as favourite considering I am the reigning champ from the Seth Efrican series. :D

Tips for the week:
Two Wells and Hummocks - Draw
Mallala over Virginia by 2 goals
Balaklava over Hamley by a cricket score
Morphetville Race 4 number 4 by 1 3/4 lengths
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Here is a question to test our knowledge.
How long has it been since one club won the flag in all grades? if it has happened?
Two wells at the present time would have 4 sides more than capable of doing it
Currently
A grade equal 2nd
B grade top (undefeated)
senior colts 2nd
junior colts top (undefeated)

HWE over TW by 3 goals (good teams always bounce back, Eagles' ears will still be ringing after the qtr time address last week).

Virginia draw Mallala (this week will seriously test the depth of Mallala and Virginia will be fresh after the week off and must win this game if they are seriously hoping to challenge in Sept)

Balaklava over Hamley by 25 goal (disappointing for Hamley, but injuries and a lack of key players has killed them this year. Hopefully thier young guns dont loose too much heart this year and hang around).

Thats high expectations your setting yourself. Do you realise that no team has even played a match in July yet this year? Never mind about September!

Have also noted this. Their Junior Colts and B grade would be just about 'Over the line' as much as you can be in July, while their Senior Colts and A grade must be considered a chance. 2 out of 4 ain't bad

By the sounds of it SD some of their young guns and mid-row players need to grow some heart. Maybe just "hanging around" is their problem.

It cant be left up to the Smiths, Natts, Woulds and Schahingers to punish themselves every week with no support!

I have seen them play one game this year (TW Vs HB @ HB) and it is very VERY obvious that some lads are happy to sit back and watch/hide.

Hopefully these lads step up for Hamley and the competitions sake! Maybe injuries to key players will force this?

Son of O- agree with your comment in principal, but, wanting us to step up for the competitions sake? its not like its an extremely illustrious comp.

Every year for the past couple decades their is a club that struggles. Its a cycle. Im pretty sure in a couple years time HB will be on the top of the tables again and Two wells will be the best 6th team going around. Remember that yourselves were getting flogged by 25 goal a game 5 years ago.

Think that sums up exactly what your saying Son of O!!

It's not for the sake of making the comp look good, its a matter of seeing some half decent footy played on a Saturday afternoon in the main game, rather than one team playing against another whom has excepted they're going through a lull in the cycle and so cant see the point of stepping up.

Its "how" a team/club that is battling looses rather than how much they are loosing by, that gives them credibility.

Fair point BEN C. I am sure the TW boys remember those floggings well.

But I think it would be good for the comp if you guys were closer to the mark week in week out. I just think the HB squad could take a lesson from players like those I mentioned. Atleast they appear to be f&%king hating the fact they are losing, they look like they are trying to bust their arses to do something about it, putting their bodies on the line etc etc. I bet they arent thinking in terms of cycles and the good old days!

PS: I do not barrack for TW, I just know people who do.

Ok I took it the wrong way. How would I know if its been done before? I'm not an encylopaedia.

But, Considering the league is 101 years old now I would assume that it has been done before. Just not sure when ;)

Swamp, its not like HB has held a meeting with the agenda to discuss whether its worth trying or not. A majority of us try but seem to be inconsistent game by game at doing so.

We Certainly are not using the 'its a cycle' excuse for losing. I was stating the fact that a club in the league gets flogged every year. Therefore meaningless stating we should improve for the leauges sake.

But i definately agree with the 'for the clubs sake' comment, and agree what you are implying by its how you loose is what shows your teams character.

Perhaps they need to look at the coaching direction, seems obvious there is nothing being done on the track to address the big lossess if they can get anyone to train at all.

It's a dissapointing that some of willastons best B graders who've been lured out there, they certainly will find it tough to get themselves back to blg standard after a year or two at hamley. a waste of some reasonable footballers.

You saying that b grade in the blg is better than a grade in apfl? Surely you gotta be kidding. these guys are playing against better opposition than they would've been in the blg. So doesnt that count as challenging themselves?
