MEDIA RELEASE FROM THE AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE
2009 NAB AFL Under 18 Championships All-Australian Team
Western Australia have been rewarded for their dominance of the 2009 NAB AFL Under 18 Championships with a record nine players selected in the All-Australian team.
Division One runners-up South Australia and Vic Country are both represented by four players, with three Vic Metro players and one each from NSW/ACT and Tasmania completing the 22-man squad.
Vic Metro’s Tom Scully was named for second consecutive year.
Selection in the All Australian team rewards the individual players who excelled for their respective States and Territories at the recent 2009 NAB AFL Under 18 Championships.
Western Australia’s title winning coach Andrew Lockyer was named All Australian Coach, with South Australia’s Brenton Phillips his assistant.
The All Australian team selectors for 2009 were AFL Talent Manager Kevin Sheehan, AIS-AFL Academy High Performance Coach Jason McCartney and AFL club recruiters, Bryce Lewis (North Melbourne), Hamish Ogilvie (Adelaide Crows), Graeme Hadley (Brisbane Lions) and Francis Jackson (Richmond)

Backs: Andrew Hooper (VC), Blayne Wilson (WA), Bradley Sheppard (WA)
Half Backs: Josh Toy (VM), Daniel Talia (VM), David Swallow (WA)
Centre: Anthony Morabito (WA), Dustin Martin (VC), Mitchell Duncan (WA)
Half Forwards: Kane Lucas (WA), Jack Darling (WA), Gary Rohan (VC)
Forwards: Brandon Matera (WA), Matthew Panos (SA), Ben Cunnington (VC)
Followers: James Craig (SA), Jack Trengove (SA), Tom Scully (VM)
Interchange: Luke Tapscott (SA), Ryan Harwood (TAS), Dylan McNeil (NSW/ACT), Travis Colyer (WA)
